It only stops because i take immodium, to give myself a break and relax for the day and give myself a butt break which is sorely needed. Basically life is miserable especially when all that pooping irratates my piles. Stay strong my fellow sufferers.

@@yourfriendlyproctologist Hi doc, I understand you owe all these changes to aging but I'm not so sure it is all normal (of course you only feel your body and as long as it's your new normal and is not bothersome it's OK). My mother is 70 and has not had a single change to her bathroom habits since her twenties - a coffee in the morning, instant quick poop (lucky her). I have every single one of the bowel changes you described - they all came on overnight after an acid reflux attack two weeks after I stopped with PPIs. Next thing I know: extreme constipation, tenesmus, doc found proctitis. Corticosteroid suppositories seemed to improve the maddening tenesmus but didn't quite solve it. Here I am with alternating diarrhea and constipation, stools in every shape and form except what is considered normal, deep pelvic floor pain/ spasms, muscles I can't quite relax anyhow. No blood in stool, moderately elevated CPR, my lactose intolerance worsened and I seem to get explosive diarrhea from glucose and fructose too. Colonoscopy on Monday - my gastroenterologist says on the basis of his 50 years of experience chances it's in my head/ it's stress induced. I wish I could be more open to this theory but I have not been able to sit for over 2.5 months for I feel rectal swelling and tailbone/ piriformis pain as soon as I sit down. I have always found becoming bedbound a very scary prospect but it's nothing compared to the prospect of a life of standing 😂 I feel like my life is over and I don't have control over my body anymore.

Im suffering from hemorrhoids, anal pain and I’m literally getting depressed because of this 😢. And the most frustrating thing is that my specialist doesn’t believe that hemorrhoids can hurt that much. Being hospitalized 3 times because of anal pain. First time one day, second time 5 days with stags removed and Botox for anal fissure. The last time was hospitalized for 10 days, and yet the doctor kept telling me that isn’t the hemorrhoids but the muscle around the anus. I’m just tired, have dropped school and work but yet my doctor thinking it’s not that serious. I’m seeing a psychiatrist even got this. I feel like they all think the pain is just in my head. I’m miserable and by the way I’m a mum of 4 kids, and can’t even play with them anymore because I’m always in pain 😢. I cry like baby, specially after visiting the toilet and so much in pain that sometimes i just wanna die God forbid. Now I’m looking for solutions because i can’t do this anymore. May the Lord help ish one of us that suffering from this, because yes it’s not easy at all…….

Thanks for this very personal video. An excellent topic you should cover in your next video is related to the effects of MSG (or other food additives) on hemorrhoids among others. With age, it looks like MSG is really affecting me (it took two years to realize this). Just recently, I realized that if I eat food with MSG (only happens if I eat out), I start to flare up late evening/early night and this will include spasm. Now, I am being very careful about eating food items at restaurants that may contain MSG (soups, etc.). I saw scientific information online about how MSG can significantly affect hemorrhoids.

Rx for an excellent daily movement......breakfast....berry, fruit, nut and yes, red cabbage smoothy. Lunch.....pistachios, cheese, fruit and a little of dark chocolate. Dinner.....very large salad, with red, cabbage, romaine, lots of red onion, sweet peppers, olives, topped with pumpkin seeds, evoo and balsamic vinegar along with a protein, (meat or fish). No food past 6pm all the while drinking water thru-out the day. I consistently pile the massive deuce, which has the consistency of soft serve ice cream up out of the toilet water and it severely skids the bowl up and cause my wife to yell at me. Btw, I'm pushing 70 and I go like clockwork in the morning every day.

I'm wondering if you could please do a video on how to treat an internal prolapsed hemorrhoid that is located at or under the dentate line without surgery? More specifically, Is it possible to do a few bandings above it to get the hemorrhoid to slowly lift up a bit, and how many bandings can you do without causing Anal Stenosis? Thank you, your channel has been a huge help to me.

Thank you so much Dr Chung! Getting over fissure/hemorrhoids is a journey. My first fissure was in 2007 and fissures and hemorrhoids have been problematic since. Lately I’ve had a lot of luck doing breathing exercises while massaging the sphincter (using finger from glove, and a bit of anusol) first thing in the morning before getting out of bed. I insert and move gently back and forth and focus on relaxing (imagine slow melting of tension) on the exhale and keep going until nice and loose…it can take 5-10 minutes. The sphincter muscles go from being tight cable to loose ropes. I think a major problem is our butts have a mind of their own, and after injury it’s like PTSD. You have to actively switch from sympathetic to parasympathetic and a good gauge for this is sphincter tension.
@edwrusty
@edwrusty Ай бұрын
Another thing I’ve noticed is that the old sphincter does not necessarily relax all at once. I had real problems getting the muscle towards the tailbone to relax. When you’re on the toilet before going you can actually feel the different sections of sphincter relax at the start of a movement, and the goal is to breath out slowly and focus on relaxing everything. Another thing that’s weird is how hypersensitive affected people are (guessing they’re like me) where it seems I feel every bump and texture. It would be wonderful if you could take a bump and feel nothing at all!

I think a lot of issues are OCD. We’re so obsessed with going everyday on command at any expense. I don’t get the urge very often. I just go sit on the toilet at anytime and let the process happen 5-10 min generally. As you age you never know when and that’s a burden. You also sit too much. It is what it is. I take Miralax and Metamucil daily. I go every day but I miss the days of the 10 second one and done.

I have CIDP and gastroparesis. Most likely the gastroparesis is due to the CIDP, damage to my vagus nerve. I have been on every prescription I can to try to get my colon to move faster. However, I don’t even get the urge to have a bowel movement anymore. I do have hemorrhoids, so I keep my stool very very soft, but I don’t even get that feeling to go anymore and when I do, it’s hardly nothing. I don’t know what I can do to get the stool moving faster. Any suggestions? I am already taking a lot of MiraLAX like four capfuls, I am on lactulose, and like last night in order to have a bowel movement this morning, I took liquid Senna. I still have no urge to go this morning at all. About every week and a half to two weeks, I clean myself out as if I were having a colonoscopy by using MiraLax and a rehydration drink.

Hi doctor I really don’t know how to thank you for all the educational content it helped me so much but I wanted to ask you how can i make my external haemorrhoids go away and i think i had them for more than a year but I didn’t know what it was but now the discomfort is so bad and they’re in their adolescent stage according to your life cycle of haemorrhoids video . Im scared and I don’t know how I got them cause I’m still a teenager and I can’t really go and see a doctor neither want to do a surgery, is it possible to just use ointments and they go away? i hope you see this ❤

I work as a pharmacist, and often I will see nifedipine/ lidocaine/hydrocortisone creams prescribed for anal fissures. Is it wise to use hydrocortisone for multiple weeks or months to treat anal fissures. I have come across some data that says this can reduce the healing of anal fissure. It can also thin the skin I thought.

I have a question and not sure if it’s a fistula. Whenever I eat blueberries, raspberries or vegetables and drinking sparkling water or coffee I notice that I will start quiffing in half an hour. I know this is not normal right?

I have been lost - I was injured during anoscopy with anal fissures and on the fissure forums no one got this anal mutilation like mine- there is protruding anal flesh mass on my BM in a form of the CONE and once im done- it gets sucked in. French fissure medical websites claim that if it prolapsing it cant be skin tag - its anal papillae , but the flesh that is prolapsing doesnt look like papillae with white tip.... Can you please confirm that this might be massive anal sentinel pile that s been formed to guard serious injury ?

What does "banded" "banding" mean? Does this refer to a procedure or to a feeling in the area?

He's talking about hemorrhoid banding, that's a procedure that a dr can do to help internal hemorrhoids.

Banding is when the doc puts a band around a heroic & cuts off the blood flow to so it will fall off & heal. It works great but very painful right at first. When I got it doc gave me wrong pain suppositories & it worked fine.

Hello, Dr. Chung I recently got a Pilonidal Cineus surgery.... Well It was an awful experience.....Recently it reoccurred again and I am gonna have an operation again. The doctor told me after the operation to use a donut pillow to give less stress in that region but thankfully after watching your vid about donut pillows, I am kinda concerned to use it. Is there any other way...... I live in Bangladesh

My fissure still exists, but after three years, I've cut down the constipation-prone foods, use Miralax once or twice a week, and use Pranicura when my fissure starts to get sore again. If I had to poop 4 - 5 times a day, I would just stop eating until I started pooping once a day again.

do you have hemorroids or ever had them?
@Inmate533
@Inmate533 Ай бұрын
@@b-41subject57 Yes. The hemorrhoids, as well as my fissure, were also caused by eating things that blocked me up really bad. I spent many days wondering why I was bleeding from my butt and if it would ever stop. For me, eliminating dairy and junk food made all the difference and I no longer have hemorrhoids, even though I still deal with a much slighter version of constipation.

@@Inmate533 were they internal or external hemorrhoids? I have internal and mine will itch. I've changed my diet and wondering how long until it goes away permanently
@Inmate533
@Inmate533 Ай бұрын
@@b-41subject57 They were internal, but mine didn’t really bother me much, except for the bleeding. I’d imagine it’s different for everyone, but if you have any kind of constipation or hard bowel movements, you need to work on that. My main attack on that is Miralax. I had to take Miralax every day for like six months when I first started using it. Only then did I start seeing real healing. My main source of pain was my fissure, which gave me eight to ten hours of almost unbearable pain all day and going to the bathroom was like pushing broken glass out of there. So the hemorrhoids were really minor compared to that.

Other than butt hair, this is all too familiar! I had a rather amusing incident after an unusually tough powerlifting session where my entire butt hurt so much I was scared to fart! And then there was today, where I couldn't stop farting while squatting and deadlifting until the hole actually felt sore.
