The oldest language in the world. Tifinagh-Tamazight

Tifinagh (Alphabet), Tamazight (Language) is one of the oldest written and spoken languages in the world, if not the first! The word Tifinagh means; tifin "Discovery" nagh "Oneself". It still exist till today and its spread among the Amazigh tribes from the Canaries islands in the Atlantic to the Siwa oasis in Egypt, and from the mediterranean sea in north Africa to the niger river in the Sahara.

Tifinagh is not a language! it is a system of transcription of the Amazigh (Berber ) language. The "Berber" language is called Tamazight and it is now official in Morocco. Tifinagh is not specific to the Berber Tuaregs but all Berbers. It is true that being far away from the Mediterranean coast , theTuaregs managed to preserve the writing while the Berbers from the North lost it because the colonizers ( Arabs, Turks, Frenchs) imposed a different language to the lands they occupied. It is ceratinly one of the oldest written languages but I am not sure if it is the oldest. Finally, it is such a shame that a country like Algeria , controlled by self proclaimed Arabs, refuse to recognize Tamazight as an official language.

This is not the original Tifinagh, this is neo-tifinagh script carved in wood.. Its moderen....Neo-tifinagh was created by Kabyles in the 70's. Neo-tiifnagh is what northern berbers utilize today and its an offspring of Tuareg traditional tifinagh... Tuareg Traditional tifinagh doesn't have vowels and its similar to ancient rock carvings in stone. .. Tifinagh was not lost for northeren berbers because of colonization. I know this is a popular theory, buts it's just not the case. Northern Berbers were able to heavily preserve their anicent language and ancient Berber tattoos but not tifinagh. Not all berbers nor even all tuaregs utilized tifinagh. Traditional Tifinagh is litterally a secret cipher and only a selection of elite clans of berbers used it within the hierarchy kingdom, only the higher ranks could read it.. Even Berbers of the same clans spoken different languages than the lower ranks to preserve secrecy of the hierarchy. Every line is litterally a cipher. While Egyptian hieroglyphics is decoded, many ancient tifinagh transcriptions goes undecoded till this day because those who can decipher; wishes not to disclose our secrecy. And tuaregs society is operated on a hierarchy society till this day were we have an amanokal (king) and multiple class rankings.

Since this video was presented, the city identifying itself as Eden has been rediscovered. The city is in ancient Aratta and was also called Trypillia. The writing in it turns out to be Tamil, proto-Sumerian, and is 22,000 years old. Some samples may be as old as 44,000 years. It is thus several thousand years older than Tifinagh.

Tifinagh is a case of archeology. What is found is just writing that didn't disappear or decay for the certain measured period of time way back. There can be more findings but this is only about "writing" any language can be traced back like a family tree. Linguistics and paleontologists and anthropologists all need to work together on this to construct this "proto-language." People here don't tend to realize that there is no one "old language" any languages changes more or less in one way or another in tone, in cultures, in historic events and many other factors. You can't just say "this language is the oldest" because in the end of the day, you trace one language all the way back until the first homo sapiens who use more gestures and simple/basic sounds of indication and any other simple form of communication already developed by homo sapien's ancestors in perhaps whatever 500.000 years ago.

I don't believe that the word "tifinagh" means "our-discovery" as said by the Kabylian Berberists who, as usual, say stupidities; since the substantive form "tifin" - that comes from the verb "af" - is not pan-Berber; i.e known only in Kabyle dialect. In reality, and that's what is said even by S.Chaker, the word "tifinagh" may be the plural form of "tifineght" meaning "the Phoenician letter"; many of the alphabets around the Mediterranean are indeed derived from the Phoenician alphabet.

Tifinegh is actually coming from the word finiki, which is phoenician, later version or scriptures of Arabic language which was spoken but not written before that time. First time written was in what we call today Syria, Palestine and Lebanon where the phoenicians came to north Africa.
