Haven't seen one of those since I left the farm in 82. Dad put a cab on it from an excavator to get out of the dust. Worked reasonably well. Spent many hours riding along in it

Aye, ye ol' 33 makes yet another season 👍😁 Pretty cool having some help with the video! Most old combines had a little beller, or Bark to them.. Pretty good yield for this year, in my opinion. Thank you Rusty!!

Thanks man. i was finally able to relax out there. We had a hot May here this year, and not only did we have less hay, but the barley seemed to be less too. They're growing beardless barley here now, and it looks fantastic, i may try that next year.

Some day I would like to find an Oliver combine to run and play with at our local threshing show.

Good to see the Oliver 33 out running! That is a really cool old machine. Sorry the yield wasn't what you were hoping for. I've never grown barley, not much grown around here so I don't know what a normal yield for it would be. I love the unique sounds of the older equipment, it's part of their personality. That beller probably gets to your ears after a while though. Thanks for the video Rusty!

Thank you. There's a sweet spot in the throttle, just about 1300 i'm guessing, that takes a bit to find because the cable is so long, there is a short clip from my friend who was there and caught it, i will try n post it.

Its always awesome to see videos of this combine. This has to be one of the first years where you haven't had to stop for anything besides adjusting the combine hasn't it? Im sure every year you run it, it will get more and more kinks worked out of it.

Yes sir! This was the first year i could relax a little. Nothing broke, everything was quiet, one small squeak from the grain pan somewhere, but ya, so nice! The guy that was there made a video walking along side and it sounds great! Thanks for all the encouragement!

Great to see it in action- Charles here! I'm really glad she held out for you this year! sweet victory! i wonder if you could spray the wooden tie rods and sieves in oil to maybe help them last longer?

Thanks Charles! yes, i soak all the wood pieces in vegetable oil after i make them and before i put them in the machine, so far so good, they still feel kinda oily to the touch even a couple years later. I think as long as it doesn't sit outside for years, it should last.

I know this is late but I'm curious, the engine and drive train is from what tractor ( I noticed the shift pattern ) does it have a variable speed or just the gears for speed adjustment. Grew up driving an 88 so some of it looked similar.

Thanks, the engine is a F226 Continental flat head, but i think the drive train is similar to an 88, the bell housing is separate from the transmission because there's another clutch for the threshing and header. There is no variable speeds on this machine except adding and removing shims in the pulleys for the threshing, and header.1st gear is a bit too fast for heavy crops and i'm still learning how to operate it, lol..
