Awesome videos,we used to farm with a Cockshutt 525 and White 7300 here in Southwestern Ontario. Great little combines, brings back great memories. Makes me want to rent a few acres and do it all over again. These tractors and combines are very affordable but land rent is thru the roof. Keep up the good work, I could watch it all day!

I like the "other green tractors" but I grew up on my uncle's farm using OLIVER equipment. Thanks for the memories. :)

This video reminds me that in 1973 we were cutting wheat in Frederick, Okla. One day we saw a wheat harvest crew passing thru town with 3 combines. They had an Oliver, a Case & a New Holland. One of the guys made the comment " That would be a parts nightmare". Thanks for posting.

+Dick Short that would be a parts nightmare just thinking about going to three different dealers just for parts that would suck and be expensive in the long run

Thanks for the great video! My Dad had a 2890 MM (same combine as yours, different color) I spent a lot of time in. I also loved plowing with his 1850 Oliver (pulled six-16's) Best years of my life, growing up on a farm.

Ok gotcha . Actually I think your grandfathers machine is the one that Kenny still has in the barn at his moms place. Ken bought this one I ended up with at an auction in Vandalia MI. And then there is one out in the woods at his moms that Larry bought when he was still farming. Ide still like to go back and get your grandfathers machine because Ken was talking about scrapping it, but the barn space and money just isnt here right now. Glad you liked the video though. There are a couple more of this machine on my channel.

Yup, dad (Larry) just straightened me out and his is in the woods behind his aunts. Ken sold the one without the cab a couple years ago to a younger kid who planned on using it. Not sure of its status. At any rate, thanks for the video and the memories.

It is just great to see this old classic combine run! Too bad only a handful of working Ollie bines are still alive, today.

Love your videos man. Been watching them religiously for a while now. I was I have to say it's mostly becuase of your videos that i have become a big fan of olivers. My number one is Case/IH but I have grown a huge love for Oliver now as well. Someday I wanna start a part time/hobby farm gig myself. Inspiring seeing you do this and working a fulltime job as well.

It does a great job. She will run circles around my friends John Deere 3300. But you have to take the time to set it up right. Find the right cylinder drive sprockets, change the cylinder delete bars when you cange heads, and so on. It takes a little time but it makes a real clean sample, and it doesnt put anything out the back.

that equipment is barely broken in. my dad and I used a 525 to shell corn from a corn crib for a farmer we helped from time to time. I was about 10 years old at the time. wow 40 years ago. that was back when sex was safe and farming was dangerous.

First combine I ever owned was a 525. Two row cornhead. It would eat it up.

Great machines, except for lack of rock trap when picking corn. Dad had the corn head set up where it would pick up down ears. After picking up his second $500 rock (at around 1968 dollars also), he made some slight adjustments. Still had very few corn 'hills' in the bean fields.

A buddy of mines dad had A Oliver combine, I couldent believe it. I never seen them very often. I was going to take A ride in it , But never got the chance it went to the scrap yard And he got A newer 1480 IH. Still disappointed, it was in really nice shape. I think the whole getting parts was the deal, Sad cool ass combine.

MY dad had a 1966 Oliver 525 and that thing was about wore out when he got it in 1971. It got traded for a Deere 4400 circa 1978.

My dad had a 7300 Oliver combine with a 318 V8 and rice tires in the early 90's. I don't really remember it, I was only 5 or 6 when he upgraded to a TR70.

This fall has been annoyingly wet in Michigan. Just enough rain to mess up harvest.

Well thats a loaded question. About an hour after we were done with the video the bearing went out in my unloading auger, and I had to go back down to college that night so I didnt get to work on it during the week. We didnt finish untill the next weekend so technically it took a week, in all reality it took about 5 hours.

No that old girl wouldnt even pick a 6 row up let alone run it. 3 was the biggest offered for a 525. The 535 and 545 could run a four row, and if you really had money back then you could get a 6 row for the 5555 which later became the 7600.
