It’s always fun to watch your video’s and your take on music and reproduction. On the Dutch Audio Event a couple of reporters said the Fleetwood Deville were to them the best of the show and they described it as ‘going back to the music’. In my opinion the biggest compliment they can give.

Outstanding turntable the OMA K5. Thank you for presenting it. Regardless, I am very very satisfied with my belt driven turntable which looks gorgeous to me and is with all the updates over 18 years (including sensor based motor control) around 10k.

Hello Jonathan Love watching your vids ... you speak eloquently with just the right amount of edge ... and your not afraid to speak your mind :) I have always been a direct drive guy myself and its amazing to see your company doing what no one else will ( or can ) . Your knowledge of audio history and the back stories you tell never fail to amaze me. You claim that you guys dont produce art ... but any of your creations would inspire interest , wonder and admiration to anyone lucky enough to see them in person ... without even turning them on !!! Absolutely beautiful . Im from Toronto but will be in Manhattan in mid November ... I will try to make an appointment to check out your showroom in Dumbo . After the meetings ... that would be the highlight of my trip. 😉

Awesome! Was great to meet you in Munich! As an aside: watching the platter of the K5 spin makes me less dizzy than that of the K3, as great as the brass screw heads look there.

Plenty of belt drive turntables that perform better for the price, like a Döhmann Helix Two Mk3, or a high end Rega, but purely on aesthetics, OMA product look fantastic! And if money is was no object… sure I’d look at one

A sales presentation is a power contest. this guy chooses to lead by knocking other product, which reflects poorly on the strengths of his product , saying it is, essentially, non competitive, by allowing no comparisons.

It's great to be bursting with pride over one's product; I am over mine. But to refer to other designs such as belt-drive as "junk engineering" presents you as boorish, possibly with a touch of autism spectrum disorder. Please think before you blurt.

Bakelite was not an industry term - it was a consumer oriented trademark for Leo Bakekelands phenol-formaldehyde composite. Also, machining marks on the turntable have nothing in common with engine turning applied for decorative purposes to car dashboards or watch movements.

I find your comments about belt drive hyperbolic and untrue. “ Not serious, joke technology, doesn’t work”. I think many turntable experts would disagree with you. How is it that the majority very highly thought of turntables happen to be belt drive? Is our hearing deficient? Are you the only one with golden ears? I have a very modest Rega P6 which, judging by your comments, you would regard as laughable. I’ve gotten immense enjoyment out of it through the years. Who are you to say that this technology is a joke? Many people have loved the sound of their belt drives. How does one measure pleasure? And, by the way, the Fremer video did you no favors. Votes were evenly divided between the OMA and the TECHDAS with many feeling there wasn’t a great difference.

It’s beautiful but unnecessary. He has ultra rich people who feel better about spending over $100k on a turntable. My Rega P10 is excellent and I enjoy it. I would dare this guy to do a live blinded test of different tables and would guarantee he couldn’t tell the difference. To say Roy Gandy is a joker when it comes to turntable design is idiotic. I’m sure the time and engineering is great, doesn’t mean it’s an absolution.

A questionable design. The strange platter hangover is easily swiped from the side, and is there no dust cover? The weakest link is the vinyl record, and there is no cure for groove wear.

I was hoping for something more technical, as I came to learn the advantages of the product beyond the cosmetic . right off the bat I get two things I don't need, ultra expensive and mike fremer. this guy sure has a hard on for belt drive tables. he couldn't just end his presentation without the slam. I think belt drive can be especially effective in a cost constrained design, which is what I enjoy.. I have no doubt Fremer could be an excellent friend just from his abilities to tell stories, but I think the subjectiveness of human hearing is a reality he has no use for. one of the first lessons any ethical salesperson will learn is to sell the greater advantages of your product. Saying another product is inferior is basically selling by fear, what a mistake you will make with the competitor's product. which could be true, but a superior product will always be the better choice, and it is not ethical to manipulate a customer's emotions , who ultimately one seeks to serve, by introducing fear into the sales presentation. relative merits are illustrative , saying a competitors product is inferior is putting the sellers judgement above the consumers . when a sales presentation knocks other product, beware. often the product being pitched has problems they seek to avoid , so switch the topic to the mistakes you could make, instead of the advantages available with the best choice.

Although I am, obsessively, fond of everything ΩMA ; I admit that the premise of your observations and opinions seem, somewhat, reasonable. Here’s the thing - your rant, pretty-much, describes the behaviors and protocols of the entire ( underscored ) U.S. political candidate campaigning trail, over the last 32 years. I’ve always been a proponent of allowing your resume and / or product to do the talking, for you ( from experience ; there’s, absolutely, no better marketing than face-to-face referrals ). I don’t expect that most ( regardless of upbringing and / or education ) will adopt this trait, though . . . What I am not a proponent of : an unchecked, indifferent, pick-and-choose moderation, “ social ” platform that allows, random, loiterers to, brazenly, encroach upon someone’s channel in a feeble attempt to condescend, disparage, and disrespect. That’s not directed at you; but, ( as the backlash on this gentleman’s platform indicates ) we ( truly ) have a, troubling,“ hate ” issue / epidemic ( proper ), in this country. Sense I, now, have the space and opportunity ; I’m, actually, thinking hard about churning out a screenplay on the matter. 🍺✌🏽 Oh yeah . . . One last thing ; the only thing ethical about America is the incredible number of, check-the-box, ethical courses that it offers at its more than 6,000 post-secondary schools - which, nearly, “ EVERYONE !!! ( Gary Oldman, Léon The Professional [1989 ] )” ignores.

one must identify what his sales pitch is trying to achieve, and factual product considerations are clearly not the goal. he is seeking the mega rich middle eastern and Chinese, the main consumers at these price points, and who share a very elitist viewpoint.

@@richardelliott8352if read without consideration for the „consumer branch“ that this all applies to, one would think those people making he statement’s are completely ignorant to the engineering and physics that is involved and more politicians and philosophers, the branch is often accused of „voodoo and snake oil“ , but honestly from an engineer (a sound engineer in my case) many of the statements are quite frankly ridiculous, and frightening with respect that these people will be believed on the one hand and those making the statements believe what they are saying. What raised my ire was that a student I had the luck to visit Linn in the early 80‘s, and more importantly the parent company Castle Precision Engineering, this company made bearings for parts of machines used in the Aerospace and Space industry with tolerances that beggared believe, the Sondek being a side project to teach apprentices the importance of tolerances and perfect fitting with objects that would interest young people, hence building turntables, tonearms and loudspeakers back at those times, and then to see some either ignorant or misguided guy making a video and spouting ridiculous rubbish just goes against all that I have learnt in the last 47 years just makes my blood boil..
