The Omegooliebird

This is the one, the pinnacle of fun. The ultimate bird in the hangar. Both scary and relaxing at the same time. It is strong, reliable sharp to fly and a big step up from anything made of foam. This modified Vasa-Model 'Fusion' is the current Fastest FPV plane in the world. Two different motors used in these flights. The faster motor (Leopard X2-3674 2650kv) will push to 265mph, but only for a short run. The smaller motor (Turnigy SK3 3659 1900kv) allows a safe continuous full throttle time of around 45-60 seconds per battery, and 1km every 10 seconds...at 220mph it is a great ride!!!

@@OMEGOOLIEBIRD I feel the same way about DJI, but after trying out their FPV system I just couldn't resist purchasing one! Flying in HD is simply amazing! And if you're like me and like a large goggle FoV, theirs beats the crap out of anything Fatshark has and is higher resolution as well! That being said, if Fatshark release similar digital goggles to go with their bytefrost system I'll probably switch and sell my DJI stuff. I had the chance to test an early prototype of their link and based on what I saw it's going to be competitive!

7x7 Graupner speed prop for the Turnigy 3659 1900kv @ 6s. It can handle it just fine.

Would have to be big rockets to make any difference! We have tried rockets on stuff before, and the burn time / weight ratio simply doesn't make it work due to the weight of the plane...to get a decent rise, it would take 100n of thrust for 5 seconds or so to get the acceleration...which is a BIG motor....

Thanks. Yeah, 3d printed rough shape, then final sand to exact shape. I gave the dimensions to Vaclav at Vasa model and he now makes that nose piece too upon request if you want the same.

I’m definitely looking into fpv plane flying and I’d like to eventually get into FAST fpv plane flying and you’re one of the only people I’ve seen recently that does it, so that’s why I’m asking lol

@@Pilot8091 Hey, just sawed the front off, drew round it on some thin plywood, cut a bulkhead from the plywood, and bonded that into the open nose of the fuselage, then screwed the 3d printed nose to that. You could do it many other ways too though. That is one of the most rewarding parts of doing it...'the build' and working out / solving the problems.

Got the 3674 2200kv in there rn moded fc to bypass on board current sensor and use a 200a mauch sensor. As150 connector. 190a esc. But believe me it's a ragged version of ur planes. Was a let's see if it works build.

@@jeffsittler8056 just make sure your servos/ horns / elevons are at least 2x stronger than standard.. that's the main failure point for folk.. underestimate the forces involved.
