I just saw The First Omen and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a prequel to The Omen and shows how Damian actually came to be. It is well made movie with an excellent lead performance by Nell Tiger Free and fine acting by all involved. The sound design was excellent (leagues above your typical horror movie) and sets up the possibility of more Omen movies to come (which is not necessarily a bad thing if they are all as good as this one).

That is not Damien's mother in David Seltzer's book or the original Omen movie. The first movie is far superior to any of the movies that came after it; it's a true classic. This prequel is a reboot and an attempt at a franchise.

The Omen was one of the first horror movies I saw. On HBO in the 70’s when I couldn’t sleep one night. Great movie!

I really enjoyed the Omen. I told my colleague I watched it and he told me his sister had a dog that was a descendant of the rotweiler in the movie.

I went to the movies to see "The Omen" (1976). I remember the strong performances by Gregory Peck, Lee Remick and David Warner. I've read where there were some strange goings-on before and during the filming of the movie.

the greatest horror movie ever alongside the exorcist 3 1990 what make the omen 1976 legendary is 1- the music 2- the acting 3- the story went so smooth 4- the child was unbelievable scary without even forcing it ... his line no daddy no at the end with that smile is my favorite scenes

I've seen the original Omen a few times. Excellent movie. They made such good, original horror in the 70s. This one, The Exorcist, Salem's Lot, Carrie, The Legacy, Rosemary's Baby, to name a few....I'm super excited to see the new Omen movie.

I don't know if your aware of the novel (which explains MUCH MORE of the mysteries taking place in the film version) BUT is no less absorbing for it. We learn that the priest that visits Thorn was a Satanist & was forced to kill Thorn's son the night the comet hit. & much more

Wasn't Damian born of a Jackel, not a devil like stated at 2:39?

In the Omen Damien's mother was a Jackel and the father was Satan, which was mentioned in Omen 1 2 and 3, but in the first Omen that came out April of this year[2024] changed to Damien being born by the nun Margaret and the father being a Jackel, and also on the First Omen, their were 2 babies born, a boy [Damien] and a girl, of course when the babies were born Margaret was gonna kill the baby boy but the other evil nuns got to her and took the boy child and left Margaret and baby girl to die and that when the the place went up in flames. But Carlita came to rescue Margaret and the baby girl out of there.

Sorry, The First Omen stinks! When you compare it to the 1976 omen, the 1978 sequel or the 2006 remake, The First Omen is bad! Poor acting, lack of synchronization with the series bearing in mind it is a prequel not a sequel! Not to mention the exaggerated scenes. It is a poor rendition. I realize many people sing its praises, but I'm happy to be in the group that does not. I strongly disagree with them. In fact I compare it to Omen III or even Omen IV, in terms of bad acting and poor storylines!
