The reason a lawyer will tell you, whatever you do... DO NOT move out of the house. Its legally proves you have the $ to move out, and somewhere to go. In Ariana's case especially, it would show she can afford to move, and Tom would no doubt show he doesn't have the $, that he has multiple debts, loans, expenses (the bars) etc. Ariana would still be legally responsible to pay half the mortgage while Tom lives there. NO WAY I'd leave my home and pay HALF for anyone else to enjoy the house without me there torturing and bothering them on the daily.

Hi Lala! Such a big fan, have listened to every podcast you’ve ever posted and now I’m watching on KZbin! I never comment but feel compelled to today lol I personally feel like a big part of being a Swiftie is listening to all of the different albums (eras) and picking up messages and themes from the lyrics. The lyrics of the different albums teach you life lessons and can even help people heal from things that they are struggling with. Reputation for when you’re going through angst, revenge, scandal, etc. Folklore for when you’re going through a breakup, healing from something bad that happened to you, etc. Each album has a theme and vibe. I have truly learned things about myself and life through her different songs because of the amazing lyrics. If you want to deeply listen/analyze some lyrics and understand what I’m saying, I would recommend starting with My Tears Ricochet and The 1. ❤❤

On the topic of gold jewelry...so my mom actually works for a luxury jewelry manufacture, and she always told me NEVER wear gold in a swimming pool (chlorine). High carat gold (24k) and chlorine should not react to one another, but lower carat gold such as 10k, 14k, 18k have alloys that actually do react to chlorine which in turn can cause tarnishing, or even losing stones from your settings. I think the thing to do is not swim in chlorine with nice jewelry, or things you don't mind ruining or losing.

I absolutely love the podcast guys! Lala you always make me laugh. As far as not moving out of the house… I’m not a lawyer but i have been a homeowner involved in something kinda similar in my past. If I remember correctly, I believe that if you own a home with another person on the deed and mortgage and leave the property, it is viewed as abandonment of your property. This means you could lose your right to the home and the money from a sale of the property. The legal right to that property and anything left inside would be given to the person who stays in the house and continues with the upkeep and residing in the house. Have you ever heard of the saying “possession is 9/10ths of the law”? I Kinda feel that applies here. So I believe you can lose the home if you don’t stay until you have some legal paperwork drawn up or a transaction to buy the other person out, or be compensated for your half with a “quit claim deed” completed which would then sign the property deed over to the person who wants to stay as long as they qualified for a new loan for the remaining money left on the initial mortgage on their own. It is a lengthier legal process and sometimes when someone can’t get a loan to buy the other person out it can be easier to just sell. Which also takes time. I don’t even know if I am saying that in a way that makes sense to people but I tried. Lol.

She’s doing the SMART thing here and looking out for her best interests, and her future. People are just blatantly dumb and looking for any excuse to be mad at Ariana, because now she’s had “TOO much success”, which is absurd, and people are clearly just bitter & jealous & incapable of seeing another woman unapologetically succeed. The VPR fanbase is RIPE with internalized misogyny, and how they’ve turned on Ariana is a prime example lately, as is how they’ve treated Lala this whole time, despite knowing that she & Ambyr are good & have turned their bad situations with that POS into a positive relationship between each other & their daughters, who are half-siblings. So gross.

In CALIFORNIA, unmarried couples (just like married couples) that OWN A HOUSE TOGETHER, or other substantial property, & BOTH of their names are on the property papers, the house or other property will be divided equally between them. HOWEVER, if only one person is listed as an owner, but both partners have contributed to the payments, the partner not listed on the property will need to seek legal counsel to attempt to claim part ownership in the property and a court of law will make a final decision regarding the division of that property. If THAT is the case with Ariana, then she ABSOLUTELY should not be leaving the house, she’s following the correct advice from her lawyers, because if she leaves, HIS lawyers would argue abandonment of property, and argue that she doesn’t really care about or want, or doesn’t have a vested interest in the house. WE ALL KNOW she deserves to have that house split equally with her, but if Her name isn’t also on it, it doesn’t necessarily matter that she’s put just as much money into it, has been paying the mortgage, etc. I’m not sure about the Atlanta situation, I don’t watch the show, but if there’s a divorce pending and there’s children involved, ABSOLUTELY her child custody situation can unfortunately be affected if she leaves the house. There are still a LOT of ignorant judges on the bench, who see women that leave the home as “abandoning” the family - even if the situation has become super unhealthy, or even if one spouse doesn’t feel safe. It’s messed up, but any divorce lawyer has to admit that it can hurt their custody chances, as well as division of property AND it can set a new bar for finances - if the spouse who moves out is paying for a new place AND still paying upkeep bills on the old house, it made be used against them by the other spouse, and they may be expected to keep up that kind of spending, and it may affect things like an increase in spousal support, etc. There’s actually A LOT that needs to be taken into consideration BEFORE someone just moves out. I know that may feel like something people desperately feel like they need to do, but it’s important to think about protecting your future too - don’t make rash decisions. Consult a lawyer IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE YOU LEAVE, folks. There are far too many loopholes that exist to screw people out of things they truly deserve in the process of ending a significant relationship.
