Chaining Hornet Drone to Noir was the right play since it allows Linkage to resolve and brings out an extra body (as chat said)

well then opponent just doesnt noir spin so its still unafected and since you now have a token in your mmz you would have to link it off for nothing anyways. The issue was just that josh had to use engage to search raye before using the change of heart

@@liammcphelin4775 No, the Linkage can actually send the Hornet Drones itself off field. So if the Linkage resolves with effect, then Josh has a Striker Link AND a token. Yes, you have to link off the token to free the MMZ, but it's not for "nothing," the difference is that you'd be summoning Zeke, which immediately threatens the Noir. So if the Noir spins either the Link or the Token on resolution of Linkage, then Josh still has one body for another Link. You're right that Josh should have used Engage before Change of Heart but if he had played Hornet Drones in that chain, he wouldn't have even needed to use Change of Heart

@@liammcphelin4775 The token + 1 body would go into Azalea (just don't make kagari yet ofc). There was no loss or risk in chaining it. If he spins the link then you can go into another link with the token and free your zone. If he spins boths, you win big time. If not you make Azalea, he'll spin her, and nothing really changed.

His misplay was not going for raye with engage, then change of heart into zeke, or Azalea. This also makes him not chaining drone to go into kagari and bait more a misplay in hindsight. He also could have gone for engage earlier since he would have just spun spells, so the draw 1 is never going to go off anyways, so it's just bait. Could have easily won that. Evenly was the correct choice, though, and would have won him the match, or at least not left with pikachu face.

Made a misplay similar to this earlier playing vampires. I almost always either steal with vamps or have zombie world up so I reflexively stole Druiswarm with CoH only to not be able to make anything with it. So embarrassing 😂

He wanted engage to stay in the GY so kagari can add it back, otherwise it will be spinned by Noir. Imo he should just chain hornet drone and get 2 bodies forcing it to spin at least 1 body to prevent zeke, then tactics to draw 2 or steal, zeke then engage and kagari.
