Frimpong a really good option if you’re looking to have Foden defend at RW but then drift into the 10 in-possession. And of course Gvardiol + Ake give City two ideal “LBs” that can slide over to LCB for a back three. I do like the Stones role setup of last season better, but A) that relies on Stones being fit and B) its static in a way that suits KDB a lot more than Foden. Downside with Frimpong is only that he’s probably less tactically flexible than Pep would probably prefer, but of course its much harder to find another Gundogan or Bernardo than great players who arent as versatile.

Firstly Pep doesn't choose the captains, its a vote by the players, and secondly Kyle walker is not the longest serving member of the squad its KDB (2015) Kyle joined two years later.

City's no 1 priority should be a defensive midfield cover for Rodri. Walker is gonna stay at least another year, getting Frimpong could be the primary solution with Yan couto to compete w him. And two more transfers that make sense is Wirtz (as kdbs understudy and Wirtz can also play RW and drop to the midfield and act as playmaker when Frimpong overlaps) and savinho for the right side, kinda like a Mahrez replacement.

There’s plenty of options tbf. Arnau Martinez is also at Girona so no doubt City would have first refusal. Dumfries’ pace and power could be ideal for City. Ivan Fresneda is a young talent at sporting. They could dip back into the Argentine market for Agustin Giay as another young talent.

Yan couto is very similar to frimpong and on loan at girona from Man City and city have said he will be in the first team next season

Yan Couto is a baller on the baller but he is just too small to be replace Walker. I've watched many Girona games and I haven't seen him win a single aerial duel. Walker, being the strong athletic player he is, was responsible for the prevention of long balls. He would always be putting pressure on attackers or winning the aerial balls. Thats not the case with Couto. I love watching him play but he will face the same problem Gomez is facing. I love watching him play and I would love to see how good he can be but that might be too much to ask.

Problem with Couto is, is Defending Attributes like Aerials, trackbacks, being attentive in defence At Girona I've always seen him bombarding in box taking on defenders that really leaves hole in defence if he losses the ball

Same thing would happen with frimpong. Also he would be basically a right winger in possession so it wouldn’t matter if he lost the ball. Also city have said couto will be in the first team next season

City had the option to get Porro back ahead of his Tottnahm move. I wish we had. But i guess for whatever reason Pep preferred to move on. Maybe they preferred the “sell on” clause funds to balance the books.

Why would city want frimpong.he is the opposite of a pep player,so tactically fixated.he has good attacking numbers but that's coz of his positioning,he plays like a winger mostly and coz teams in the bundesliga aren't as anti football as prem teams and tend not to defend that derp hence there is space and his numbers will decrease but still be good.where a problem comes is his technical ability and defending.he is good on the ball but doesn't get involved in buildup.very early on in buildup,he pushes up with grimaldo dropping to form a back 4 to build up play.secondly,his defensive.he lacks the positioning and awareness to play in a back 4at a club like city .he also gets caught out a lot due to being high up the pitch alot.that can be remedied by making him start deeper and push up only when necessary but that takes away what makes him effective

what's up with modern football now loving those attacking, winger-like wing-backs who are dumb and can only cross and can't defend? Why is this archetype of players that have their stronger foot on the same side that they're playing on so popular??? The most funny thing is, the big clubs buy those hyper-attacking wing-backs, only to forcefully convert them to play as an inverted wing-back of some sort in the midfield, completely abandoning their players' largest strength.
