I ride a 2014 CTX700 with fairing, manual Tranny. A great bike. It now has 15,000 miles on it. Did a oil & filter change, air filter change, coolant change (due to needing access to valves for adjustment) chain replacement and for funzies a spark plug change. Just taking off all the plastic cowling and putting it back on without breaking any pieces or fasteners was a giant PITA. So when you said the attention it gets is what bothers some people, I say nay nay. What bothers people who own it is the amount of work required to get at the inner organs of this thing. But it really got me up close and personal and have now bonded. Will do the same in another 15 to 16000 miles. And I'm on my 2nd set of rubbers.

I SHIFT IT WHEN I WANT HOW I WANT, IF I WANT EASY, BACK INTO AUTOMATIC SPORT MODE. GREAT BIKE, JUST DROVE IT ALL OVER WISCONSIN, DOES GREAT AND EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW WHAT IT IS, AFTER 10 YEARS, STILL STRIKES A POSE!

I bought the first one at the dealership as soon as it was delivered the first year they came out. I put up to 15k on one a year, depending on where I have to go. My transportation of choice is my CTX DCT. After having a maxi scooter, the automatic concept became a must have. As for problems, the original chain is junk and I had to replace it at 10k. It was actually causing shifting problems because torque is one thing the computer reads to make shift decisions. the chain didn't roll smoothly, requiring major continuous cleaning to prevent the issue. I switched to a sealed oiled chain and haven't had an issue for years. Another time it was making a shift when it died because I was walking it through a lumpy road at very low RPM. So it half shifted. And it wasn't neutral, it was dead. Went down and manually moved the shift rod and bam.... started right up. I'll never sell mine... it's the bomb!!!! BTW this is my 23rd bike.... so not my first rodeo...
@a.d.c79415 жыл бұрын
sowjourner can you say brand the chain is/where to get it etc...? The chain is the biggest downfall I see to this bike, so reading your post was interesting and hopeful. Do you still have to oil and clean the new chain?

Mr.Crush420 ..... yea it’s gonna be interesting..... I think automatic motorcycles will open up riding to more people ..... it’s gonna be people who feel that motorcycles should only be manuals but more and more people are going automatic in cars and motorcycles.... the new technology in these automatics with the option to drive it manually is the best of both worlds

@Chris Mathis the junkyards are full of burned out autos because there's simply far more autos being purchased. An auto is definitely more expensive to replace in general, but a manual clutch job can easily be over $1,000. Higher performance cars like a BMW M3 are over $2,000 all day.

I love my bike but I'm looking for something bigger I think, idk really. Zero issues with my CTX though and that's a blessing. Came from a pcx 150 and you're right, this is a heavy bike so if you're new to motorcycles, you might be a little deceived in the beginning. It's lower band cruiser for the streets and it'll go low and fast all day.

I tell u men.. honda is the most durable , reliable , sustainable, long lasting and the most longterm bike ever than other bike brand . I ever use kawasaki, yamaha ect but that bike cant use for a longterm and all the part will broken down a bit by a bit that may causes a lot of money and stress because it take our time energy n money until u need to survey other bike . But Honda bike and it is the most best motorcycle u ever had . Just take care the maintainance and the bike will take care of you back . Trust me.

I don't about anyone else, but for me I the only thing, I don't like is. I wish they spaced out the gear shifts to a higher mph per shift for the automatic mode. It's been a little meh having to find a certain mph, to match traffic speed. Like To many times I'm right on the edge of a shift, and I have to ease off cuz I know its gonna shift, but can't cuz if i do, I'm be a little to fast and am just gonna have to slow down again cuz the fuck weeds in-front of me. I don't wanna constantly be up shifting/down shifting and break the damn thing, then again maybe it was designed with that in mind.

@BIGKAVE4786 жыл бұрын
semihitter one take will take about 240 miles ........ it get about 65 miles to the gallon ......thanks for watching
@Im_George6 жыл бұрын
Well, the tank holds 3.28 gallons, so it's not about 240 miles as the op says. If you do the math. Completely stock and normal riding, you'll get about 60 mpg. The bike severely needs a taller windscreen, so that'll drop you to about 56 mpg. I have a tall windscreen, a rear case and ride it hard, I get 52 mpg. So, about 160ish miles before the bike stops moving.

I had that same problem of people stopping you to ask the same question all of the time. I think the bright yellow color of my bike is what attracted a lot of attention. I just got tired of it after a while and painted it all black. I then stopped getting a lot of questions.
