MARIOTHON GAME 1: Today we are beating Super Mario All-Stars on our quest to beat every Mario game!
🔸🔹 WHAT IS THE MARIOTHON YOU ASK? 🔹🔸
The Mariothon is the ultimate Mario challenge for any gamer! It was created by DGR_Dave and he is currently on a quest to finish the first ever official Mariothon!
So...what's the challenge, you ask? The goal of the Mariothon is to beat every single Super Mario video game ever made. This includes all first party games and licensed games in which Mario is a playable character. Mariothon also includes other video games in which Mario has a prominent supporting role. That's over 150 titles, across 15 gaming systems (and counting)!
Once completed, you can say that you've been there for every quest Mario has ever taken since his humble beginnings in 1983.
What counts as “beating” a game is subjective and will vary drastically depending on the format. Many games can be crossed off the list by completing an any%-style playthrough, but some others will require more creative definitions of completion.

My grandparents played Super Mario Brothers every day to help keep them mentally fit. Loved watching them and thought it was so neat to know my Grandma and Grandpa played video games. (There was also a bowling and baseball game they enjoyed, too.)

These games are my infancy. Well, lost levels not so much, as I didn't play it until the Super Mario Bros DX on GBC, and Super Mario 2 I didn't finish it until the remake in GBA (I didn't have it, an old friend did, but I lost contact with her, she is the reason I learned about VG and I started to love them). Great games, all of them. Super Mario Bros 3 in particular is my favorite 2D Mario game of all time, I think it's better than even Super Mario World. The level design, the power ups, the fact that you can get and store a lot of power ups and map items, all the secrets the game had (specially for a NES game)... All perfect.

All-Stars was such a big deal for me as a kid. Our original NES deck had died just as the Super NES was coming out, so while my parents were awesome enough to get us the new console, replacing the old one as well didn't really cross their minds. Being only seven at the time, it was beyond my financial means to do anything about it. They sold the NES games off and that was that. So when All-Stars came out a couple years later, the ability to go back to upgraded versions of those games I'd lost... For a nine-year-old, that was some life-changing stuff.

OMG YOSHIS SAFARI IS SO FUN. very nuanced but an amazing speedrun for ppl with a low bar and no life. I forgot I started learning the intricacies of it, and yea I understand ppl can say. A rail shooter? How do u speedrun. It’s all down to getting powered up and the mini/actual bosses. Not to mention the slowdown management by not shooting as much as possible? And also using the second controller to control yoshi in the Mario kart esque tracks. Anyway I’m so pumped For thst game too.

Please continue to post the rest of the mario games you beat on youtube please. Also I had mario all stars as a kid when I was 6 years old could never any of the games on it. Still to this day I haven't beat them. I sadly no longer have all my snes stuff. However I have the mario all stars wii port but never even played it. The point of the cherries in Super Mario Bros. 2 is that when you collect five cherries, a starman appears on the screen. In Mario 3, if you hit a block on the left side, the mushroom will fall to the right, and if you hit it on the right side, it will fall to the left.

Fun fact: US Mario Bros 2 was not meant to be a legit sequel to Mario Bros 1. It is originally called Doki Doki Panic in Japan and after it was ported over to the US, it was reskinned to Mario and slightly lowered the difficulty and renamed it Super Mario Bros. 2. It was so popular that the US version was ported back to Japan and was called Super Mario USA since Mario Bros 2 was already taken in Japan. SMB2 in Japan is called Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels in the international version of Super Mario All-Stars. Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan is the original sequel, but was designed to be more difficult because the fans demanded it to be harder, but was never relased outside of Japan for the NES.

If he did a speedrun of one of the Mario games he would have to do one of every Mario game, I think that would be extremely exhausting for him since he has to play through every single game (over 150 of them) twice each( one casually, one to speedrun). So it would probably be best for him to play through every game once (casually)
