This is a new enlightenment for the strength of “Perhaps”! Perhaps I’m not too old for God to use me. Perhaps. Is my “will” also a perhaps? Perhaps I need to work on that. I do indeed need to do that! I’m so thankful that God loves an old grandma who falters along the way. Thank you, John, for the insights you share. And I also appreciate all who work in the background. Loving you from Manhattan, Kansas!

Capacity to trust is HUGE. A God given gift. Need a perhaps/sense of uncertainty. Interesting why I love mystery of not knowing when reading a story yet crave certainty in MY story.

Such a good word! I wish there was a love button. I am so encouraged by this message - that it is ok to just live with my uncertainty, my big PERHAPSs, not knowing. My husband and I are standing at a crossroads in terms of our next ministry step and the questions and doubts and guilt (over how this will impact our families) runs around my head like an enormous family of monkeys. I am going to listen to this beautiful message again later today.

Over the years it has seemed that one aspect of our faith that John teaches about with particular passion is that of hope. Those have been my favorite sermons of his. This message especially resonated for me, and I wondered why until I realized that hope begins with "perhaps".

Strict Calvinists may not agree with the following musing. When God designed the laws of nature he wondrously put perhaps described via the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle into matter. His bigger wonder imo was giving humans agency and wondering perhaps about each of us!
