I'm a believer that you string your own racket and by doing so you can try different strings and tension til you find one you like. Stringing your own racket is both economical and time saving. If you get a recommendation from a stringer, they will typically steer you in the selection that they have on hand. Because there can be thousands of choices or combination of choices, you need to try to do your own research as well. No single person can have knowledge of every string on the market.

As a stringer of 30+ years experience when I have a racket in for stringing from a player I haven't seen play and they tell they want more power/spin/feel etc. I point out that tennis is still a technique based game despite modern rackets and strings...

Technique? No it’s gotta be equipment based. Why do you think every beginner you see on KZbin is using a $250 racket!? 😅😂🤪 Frankly it’s gotta be the toughest time to be a tennis coach ever. You gotta cut through all the marketing BS and preconceived notions of Power, Power, Power, Topspin, Topspin! And it’s still impossible to teach anyone to use a Continental grip. 😢😢

Before the vid stated I was sure every hint would be toward low tension... Like, no one ever need a bit more tension ? I tried everything, and to me, under 57 doesnt fit, even poly....

My stringer tells me all kinds of things. then I saw him play and he’s 3.0 at best. he has no idea what it feels like to actually hit a ball the way I do. I never listen to him ever again. he can’t play, it’s just talk.

he may know how strings feel, even if he doesn't hit the way you do, he may have more exposure to different strings. Respect the man. Lesson for life: always listen, go into every conversation believing that you have something to learn. Or just leave your racquet, write down what you want and step out Or string yourself

„Strings are rocket sciences…“😂 Can I get more drunk with different beer manufacturers…?

Hahahahahaha... My feeling exactly. One of the reasons why I string my own racquets.

@islandmerchandise3017 As long as he puts the strings the racquet consistently each time and has been taught properly, it doesn't matter whether he's 1.0 or 6.0.
