I remember one time I was recruited by a local clan to be the machine gunner of one of their trucks while we snuck behind enemy lines and harrassed enemy supply trucks. The supplies we denied an enemy city became more noticeable over time as gradually we were getting reports that the defenders were seemingly fighting more and more only with whatever they could scrounge up off bodies. The whole city was ours within the hour, which can be impressively quick for foxhole and our contributions were a heavy part of that. The logistics aspect of this game really is a gem that can't be overstated.

This game has so much potential! Could do like dedicated recon squads to find holes in their defenses, organize an offensive, prep for the offensive days in advance by stockpiling supplies and building weapons/ammo/tanks, have infantry/armor leaders make plans, then execute. Its literally the whole package. Such a cool concept for a game!
@suprememasterleader33552 жыл бұрын
ja, generally we tend to have supplies ready, and then once an opportunity becomes known we can move out, since a specific weakness wont last long. The prep work for armour ops is a lot of driving around as well, although hopefully the trains should help with that now.
@sladestro55752 жыл бұрын
I used to be in a bigger regiment and we would absolutely do this. Stockpile supplies, scout, plan an opperation(actual drawn maps for larger ones), Coordinate with other regiments in the region (often this was just requesting bodies, the lead Regiment would have supplies and 2 or 3 aspects of the battle covered but more infantry never hurts and sometimes a smaller regiment will just specialize in something like arty so they gladly bring arty and shells and crew them), stage for the operation in a safe location (this usually involved 5 or 6 players staging equipment for an hour or two before the actual op), then begin. At times these operations could last 10+ hours. at other times a thrust was halted in 30 min. and each time usually required 3 days of prep cuz not only do you have to get supplies ready, you have to get the word out so people can plan to be there.
@sirboomsalot49022 жыл бұрын
Most of the larger clans do exactly that! In fact, being a partisan and sabotaging enemy supply lines is a huge role in this game. And some clans have absolute huge stockpiles, it’s not uncommon for there to be entire fields of tanks sitting in guarded lots waiting for use.
@zanaduz20182 жыл бұрын
Special Forces work is commonly referred in-game as “partisan” work, and is just as vital as frontline combat… removing the enemy’s supply can easily break defenses in a way that you won’t get with just frontline combat… Just keep track of enemy watchtower coverage, and your faction’s recon uniform (Outrider uniform for Wardens) will help in avoiding detection by automated passive detection (the aforementioned watchtowers)
@colbyboucher63912 жыл бұрын
That all happens pretty much exactly, you should see some clan-operated logistics harbors with palettes full of artillery shells gearing up for big frontline fights. Yesterday I was doing logi way in the backlines and a couple of partisans (enemies in the middle lf nowhere in your territory) in a half-track with an AT rifle and a dream absolutely wreaked havok. We didn't have enough watchtowers up to keep them spotted and we really, seriously wished we'd had someone set up for guard duty. There are vehicles specifically built to put recon data on your team's map so it's easier to plan offensives. ...Of course, the unspoken dark side is that you can spend literally all of your time just *mining resources* because there's never, ever enough scrap. Because big shock, people aren't enthusiastic about hitting junk with a sledgehammer all day. It's especiallyubad right now because everyone plays with the new facilities and trains, the trains get stolen, and they abandon it all a day later. It's a huge resource drain.

BTW, those supply trucks drop crates full of the items they had in them. They decay slowly if left on the map. The final step of a partisan raid: scattering and hiding the crates off the road somewhere. Otherwise, the enemy can just grab another truck and resume their supply run. The delay is still valuable, but you can neutralize a lot of player-hours worth of effort by taking the extra step and dispersing the cargo.

I don't get the time to play foxhole anymore but I've been following the game and it's community for about three years. This is hands down one of the best video introductions to the game out there. You only have the slightest influence in the war, and you've demonstrated just how localised your impact is; but it's the collective effort of thousands of individuals with the grand strategy in mind that keeps the war rolling forward. The thing I love about this game is that individual choices actually have impact. You could take a machine gunner seat at a bridge that's being swarmed by wardens/colonials and keep them at bay till reinforcements arrive with more troops, supplies, and vehicles. If you're an engineer, the hours you spent meticulously building fortifications, trenches, turrets etc, can become the thing that makes or breaks a defense when the enemy tries to pull a blitzkrieg. If you're logi, you're literally the guy feeding the machine, deciding what's the best way to harvest, produce, and deliver the supplies needed at hte front line. There is no ai supply drops, or anything else that will get your troops waht they need. I recall this one time I was following up a road to a warden bob. I got lost, snuck through some random bushes, and ended literally behind a key warden machine gunner trench with wardens just firing down the path my group was on. They didn't notice me, so I picked up a gun from a random body nearby and mowed them down before they could do anything. This game is fun as hell.

There were still plenty of collies, though, things got chaotic as they circled around us, I backed up as they were trying to lob a grenade inside the cockpit, trying to get around to shoot at us, eventually, I, the driver, decided to gun it, running down a couple and narrowly slipping *in front* of a grenade. We then continued barely staying alive for a few minutes as we were mobbed by infantry, even when our engine gave out and I was slain, my faithful gunner kept firing until the very end

I got behind the enemy with a wrench and stole 4 of their supply trucks they brought up - loaded with weapons and ammo they were going to use against us. Turns out it was enough supplies to turn the fight around when we were undersupplied. LMFAO instead of using rifles we used the stolen RPGS back against them XD
