There are only 2 fishing knots you need to know in order to tie better knots and catch more fish. These are perfect if you are just getting into fishing or if you are looking for fishing knots that are easier and more reliable to tie.
Captain Mike shows you the 2 fishing knots he uses on a daily basis including the Uni Knot and Loop Knot. Both of these knots are extremely easy to tie and perfect for just about every type of fishing.
Subscribe to the channel for future rigging videos including how to tie leader to your main line. We use short pieces of leader which is thicker fishing line attached to your main line to give yourself a better chance at catching fish that could chafe you off. Stay tuned for the Uni-Knot for leaders as well as the Bristol knot.

I ordered this to net the algae in a large pond in our backyard. kzbin.infoUgkxphFK7ETiDP5G4IGsNcg7vbASDp_YfDpI The net is very sturdy and easy to maneuver in the water. The angled edges make it easier to get into the smaller spaces among the rocks. I didn't realize that the front of the net doesn't actually have a frame to it, just the sides do, but it seems to work just fine. The handle extends to various sizes, which is a great feature when I'm in areas that are tight with shrubs at the edges of the pond. I can collapse the handle so it doesn't get stuck in the bushes.

Thanks for the video. As a hobbyist in general I understand why some people would say its arrogant to say you only need these two knots, but they need to remember how the "more experienced" crowd tends to complicate things for beginners. Good introduction, thanks again!

Really great abrasion resistance and though I've never put the Big Game line kzbin.infoUgkxQ4x31pJVpClzhxzNFeILZYTW7Xbs7ZIF (any poundage) through an official test it always seems to break well above rated poundage. This line stretches a very good amount before it breaks and does well in saltwater too. Not the best line for a spinning reel in my opinion, especially if you're planning on using it for lures only due to it having a bit of memory but still a great line whether filling a spool, using as top shot or strictly for leader line. I've bought a bunch of Big game line in the past and plan on continuing to do so in the future.

Two essentials right there. I remember when I first started fishing I’d always use the clinch knot. Now I only use the uni ties that heavier line much better. For my loop knot I use the double figure 8 loop knot. Little harder to tie but extremely strong and effective. Awesome video as always!

Uni also works well for line to line (leader, topshot) and I snell with them too. On the loop knot, if you pass back through the loop created after the 2 turns, that's a Rapala knot- my favorite for lures. But I'll try the Loop...if it works, it's one less step! But another knot you must know is the Palomar, especially if you fish in the cold. Super easy and fast, holds well. For bigger fish on relatively light tackle without any other connections like swivels (a knocker rig, for instance) I'll tie a San Diego Jam, which is similar to a reverse improved clinch on steroids. I watched a knot demo and test at a fishing expo and it won many times, with many different line type and tests.

This knot has decided to fail on me twice on a big fish recently has done me well for years but... Hence why I'm watching other knot vids. Tried his first and it slips, I think he either misses a stage or it being rope doesn't slip. Also doing it a line attached as it's obviously easier when the line is free and is not showing the true method

What's your favorite knot for attaching your hook to leader or main line?
@fatalfury26
@fatalfury26 5 жыл бұрын
I honestly never attach my hooks directly to my main line, I always use either a mono or flouro leader. For hooks, I always use a Snell, feeding through the front of the hook eye to give a positive presentation of the hook point, and for lures, I always connect with a uni knot.
