Nice content, love it. The hardest thing am continuously experimenting on is paring types and I must say there is very thin line in making your design outstanding and worse.

There is also other trap that doing what the user wants ends up as a cliche.. Sometimes we have to elevate the design to a different level that the user "would" want than what they just always want..

Hi Tom, I'm curious how (if at all) you tackle menu design.
@SatoriGraphics9 ай бұрын
with menu design, it's crucial to utilise the restaurant's branding scheme, and know what the typical customer is like. Is it an expensive clientele.. are they trendy, young., old etc.
@Jharries19719 ай бұрын
@@SatoriGraphics Specifically I'm talking about the typical American dinner menu's. The ones with multiple fonts. Personally I hate them, and I've only had to do 2 of these in the last 15 years (thankfully). But they kind of go against all principles of graphic design. Do you have any examples of some you've done? Mybe it's an interesting topic for you to cover in a later video. Any tips would be great.

OK, well when you first asked the question about which package design we’d prefer you didn’t put any kind of caveats on that question. You didn’t say “The product is aimed at an XY & z market” and even if you did that’s still not what we might prefer that’s what the customer prefers. Without any qualifiers I would wager that most people would choose the brighter colored package.
