How is the 1-2 shift? I never liked the short 1st on the 4L60E and then the steep drop when it shifts to 2nd. I know the 4L80E has a longer 1st. So how is the 1-2 transition. I love the old smooth style transmissions. I have a 99 Tahoe myself.

1-2 feels great compared to the 4l60. 1st gear is long as hell I can hit 60 in first

i want to do the swap for my 06 silverado......ive seen some folks change the yoke. does the yoke and the rear driveshaft need to be shortened?

I'm 4wd so all I had to do was shorten my driveshaft, same yolk. For 2wd alot of people end up swapping yokes

i have a 96 obs with a 5.7 ..so i have to change the vcm black box to the 411 box ?

The 2 door had the option of having a 4l80e with the diesel so it already had the addit mounting holes I needed

That’s why you have to build it yourself but shortening the shaft at a shop was a good call because it needs to be true.

All good bro. Rear needs to be shortened a few inches, front can be extended because it's a slip style. Find a diesel obs and try to steal the front driveshaft off it
