Man, during the combo trials, I can only do the divekick lift in the air jump and dive kick combo like 0.2% of the time. is there something im missing?. thats a huge part of her gameplay it seems and stops me from wanting to play more.

Hey, for that 632146 DP going either forward or backwards are you doing the full input including the final forward for both jump directions? I'm trying it that way in training and can get it to autocorrect semi consistently but can't seem to find the timing to ALWAYS get it when they jump forward. Obviously reacting to the jump direction is probably best but it's a little harder than having a canned input/timing.

Personally I don't know any working OS so I just practice reacting. You don't have anything else to look for during the throw loop so you can empty your mental stack. The only things that can really happen are: a) throw connects (no reaction needed) b) opponent techs (no reaction needed) c) opponent neutral jumps (reaction needed) d) opponent forward jumps (reaction needed) e) opponent uses option that beats throw cleanly, e.g. EX DP, super, instant air Blanka Ball, instant air Cammy divekick, etc (no reaction needed) It's a pretty good dummy setup to practice between matches, set dummy wake-up options to 1. 4f, 2. neutral jump, 3. forward jump and practice.

@@itstomis yeah, I'm fine with it in throw loops now, but I usually just mash df~db and react to what side they're going if they jumped. The thing in the video works too but it's finnicky on the timing. I was mainly asking because I've seen him do it to antiair in neutral and if there's a way to make it correct consistently that'd be kind of sick to mentally program as an "always do this dp input" type thing.

A meaty is just an attack that hits your opponent on the very first frame they get up. If they do anything besides block or an invincible reversal they will always get hit. Ideally you want to hit them with the last frame of your attack so you recover even faster. You can see at the bottom that cr HP has 4 active frames. It’s normally +1 on block. If you hit with the last active frame it becomes +4 because the amount of blockstun on the enemy is the same no matter which frame hits. Active frames 1, 2, and 3 didn’t make contact so you can act an additional 3 frames sooner. The LK he’s doing before cr HP is just to help time the meaty

Thanks for the video. Can you explain buffering attacks a bit more? So if I try buffering standing LK into spiral arrow, and the opponent blocks, spiral arrow won’t come out?

You want to buffer when you think they are going enter your attacks range. Not when you think they’ll block it. If you hit their block and you are buffering your special will come out. Which is bad if it’s punishable. Examples of when you want to buffer: when you think they’ll press a button that enter your attacks range. If they press the button and you whiff punish and buffer, you’ll get your special. Another example is if you are stuffing their raw drive rush. If they drive rush, you press your normal and buffer your special because you are accepting the two outcomes. They either hit you before your attack comes out or you stuff their drive rush and buffer into special.

Spiral arrow will come out in this case and you will eat a punish. You should do when when you think opponent will move forward, drive rush or whiff a move. Spacing is key.

Anyone have tips for getting the level 3 out after the dp at 17:38? I can do everything up to then but I can't get the level 3 to come out when I input hold DP

Depends on your input method, for controller you can buffer a qcf (quarter circle foward) directly after the DP motion, so it's DP motion into qcf+p . You can also do the DP motion, charge the DP while holding the Kick and input 2 qcf inputs while you're charging the DP, you need to be pretty fast though. Look at the cancel window in training mode to get a feeling for the speed. It also cancel into SA3 if you keep the kick pressed, if that makes it easier. If you play leverless it depends on the shortcut you use for the DP. If you do 2 (down) and tap 66 (foward, foward) you can use the qcf buffer method, if you hold 6 and tap 2 you need to do the qcf x2 method during the charge.
