What you say makes sense about Hooligan. I main Cammy and have also stated a few times that you can easily jab it out. But my use of hooligan was almost always in neutral and when my opponent wakes up. Was never used as set ups to make it as safe as possible. Great video!

All the setups that hooligan hits meaty can also be light/medium dped due to their anti-air invulnerability, so make sure you guys practice punishing those moves as well.

People definitely need to realize that fake doesn't mean unusable. The higher you climb in skill the more the less safe things or gimmicks gain value when you know when to bust them out. You definitely don't want to constantly do them, but any time you are playing a long set with someone and get a chance to spot habits, that is when busting out something like the fake hooligan throw you demonstrated becomes useful. I do also like to use hooligan fast fall to bait things more frequently than I should whenever I get put full screen. High level players can get very twitchy with their reactions, and it can get you a lot of mileage when you realize your opponent is moving on muscle memory more than assessment of the scenario. I'm a little iffy on the crossup/non-crossup divekick setup though. The CPU always techs it in a way where it feels like a real setup even on back tech, but I've run into live opponents who back tech in a way that puts them too far to capitalize on. I'm not sure if that is just me manually messing up the timing though. Otherwise, these are great setups, and I appreciate the video. I didn't know a few of these yet, and will definitely be stealing them!

Can definitely use better combos from charged grab > level 2, especially if you're willing to invest 1 or 2 drive, and it'll let you keep the corner or even link a Level 1 if you happen to build the bar mid-combo. DR 4HK, DR 5HP xx 236K, 623HK for example. MK Spiral works, but HK is way more consistent.

I remember on one of your videos that you first said the Cammy Hooligans setups were real and I immediately labbed them so 80 percent of these setups I know and they really do work so I know the 20 percent new ones you displayed will be great. Also for the Razor Slicer hooligan setup (the low), it can beat most wake up Drive Impacts, so if your opponent is DI happy, it can punish and avoid the DIs.

It kinda doesn’t make sense for people to block low because they see ur in the air in which yes hooligan hits high whether going for overheads, In which they can always just block high, yes if u go for throws but they can DP u so its not as worth it, U can bait them and do lows alot to get them to block low cuz its still free damage, unless ur doing charged or ex hooligan and confirming the low into SA3, but u just always block high or DP

Pros are rarely using hooligan and it thoroughly confuses me why. It seems like 1/3 of cammy's kit and i never see it get used in high lvl play. Punk and JWONG have never used hooligan. Blows my mind.

Thanks for the video. I am very new to SF and have a question, how can you cancel the Cannon Spike into the Special that fast (3:31)? What is that Light Punch+Hard Kick combination.

It's a fully charged HK Cannon spike. You hold the kick, and as it's charging, you do your motion inputs and then press punch right when the Cannon spike comes out to get the cancel. It's a little bit tricky at first, especially if you're a new player. For us veterans, technically doing non charged Cannon spike into super isn't hard, except it actually doesn't connect.

I saw that wake up drive impact can punish most of the options (doble overhead, air grab and dive kick) is this correct? there is nothing that i can do besides guessing the drive impact and go for a fast fall?

Lets be real, the people doubting hooligan , are doing so because god punk said „i dont really know how to use it, you can be jabed out of it (in neutral)“ . Note that he did not say it is „useless“ ,he said he doesn’t know how to use it and personally does not feel the need or urge to do so (because he is a god, that could fuck as all with a jab , cr.MK and one meaty tool) Some people said, why not safe jump instead of hooligan, gives you the same combo damage and its risk free. Yea well… it is risk free and also TELEGRAPHED , as people get better they will and some already DO know : „thats a safe jump, i block.“. But you dont want them to block, you want damage and you want damage NOW! So you FORCE them to make a decision. Okay, firstly, that's not why. The reason why is that meaties give you good enough plus frames and Cammy has THE S+ tier strike throw game. 4 jabs and a corner throw loop makes meaties very very good. The second is that you are minus and right on top of them if they do guess right, and that's way more risky than the strike throw shimmy. No it's not "safe jump I block" because empty jump low and empty jump grab also exist. Then you also have mix after the jump in too. Safe jumps aren't bad because "you can just block them". I'm not trying to scrub out some top players for the next 2 weeks until they stop DPing because they realise it's a real set up. I'm trying to consistently beat them, and spending 2 bars for hooligan mix isn't often the right way to do that. From my experience, they aren't worth doing yet unless you are running somebody over and have 6 bars to play with. The risk reward isn't good enough in most situations. Not sure why I responded since you have dismissed everybody who disagrees as just a Punk stan. Maybe some other people will consider it.

@@DuppyBoii187 you are right, i should not have generalised the punk thing too much, altough i believe it to be true, at least for the majority of "doubters", and i would not say stan, becaus i think they did not listen to that he really said, he did not say it is useless or outright bad. You are obviously right about the safe jump, you can put more layers into it. Overall i would even agree with you, the meatie and the safe jump are the more consistent and conservative "good" options. BUT i am certain, you can set the hooligan up , cancel it and still be +1 (close) , at least there is a route to set it up like that (even without spending meter), altough i remember the route getting more inconsistent in the corner. I have to agree with the 2 bar spending (in this route), altough cammy is not super reliant on the meter (imo), so i can see these 2 bars "spend well". But i stand by the opinion, that doing the hooligan can surprise the opponent , because they are not used to it, dont play cammy and suddenly they see you flying in and they "feel" more pressure than with a safe jump , or a meatie and make a bigger mistake. How long that will be the case and how effective it will be in the long run , idk AND the highest level of sf is obvously a completly different world. But thank you for the response.

Hooligan throw is a gimmick and not useful at high level really. It's fine, you can use it, but literally, watch Punk and other top players playing Cammy. They almost never use it and its not necessary at all. Your first setup you said use ex dive kick....ex dive kick is also not really needed much either. Most Cammys at high level are just playing footsies, using regular dive kicks, and using their gauge to to either set up dive kick situations, cash in for damage, or to create juggles. Just watch Justin Wong and Punk at CEO. Very rarely were they doing gimmicks and ex dive kicks and hooligans. Cammy is super neutral heavy in this game, anytime she does an EX move you're better off just not doing that lol

I would agree with you, but I'd also like to add that both Punk and JWong have years of experience in regular footsies that they excel at, thereby likely feel more comfortable with more 'stable' setups, and less with hooligan-ism. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what the pros are doing in this case.

Punk doesn't use Hooligan because he plays Cammy in this game like it's Street Fighter 4 lol it has nothing to do with gimmicks Justin will just play safe because that's how Justin plays every character its more to do with risk versus reward and in a high paying high level tournament you're going to rely on safe fundamentals instead of cashing out for high risk high reward scenarios that could possibly be read and throw a whole tournament away from getting greedy they'll still use Hooligan for the side switching and overhead options but they don't rely on it as to not become predictable It's not a useless gimmick but it has drawbacks if used too much just like spamming drive impact
