Did you learn this after your match against Adam Wardzinski? I watched that match earlier today and was wondering why you didn’t use this.

It’s funny you ask, right after that match I got obsessed with escaping closed guard and got really good at this one as a result of that loss. It was very motivating haha

I figured. Well done to turn a frustrating performance into something positive.

Thanks for the video! I’ve tried this guard break in the past and I stopped because I was getting caught with double ankle sweeps. How do you avoid that?

You're not flexing your legs enough. If you create a 90 degree angle with your knee, there's no way anyone would be able to reach your ankles.

Great shit. Going to try this out. Does anything get harrier for you when you try to do this in the gi?

Dom, how do you prevent the bottom person from sweeping you with "mermaid sweep"? I love this move but I get swept a lot especially when going against someone with longer legs.

He actually talks about that in the previous video where he is rolling with the brown belt. He says you just need to put one of your knees down on the mat to open up their legs.
