no he doesn't the game makes money lenders out to be bad guys but why? people sometimes need money and need to barrow it, in those days banks didn't do small personal loans because the government limited interest rates, so loan sharks provided a much needed service to people who were not as wealthy, contrary to what the game says loan sharks didn't have a habit of loaning money to people who couldn't pay it back. they ensured all clients had a steady job and could afford the interest. because they obviously were not in the interest of losing money.

Yeah, Strauss was being funny having Arthur collect debt from another feller named Arthur Londonderry. I remember Strauss went, "Another you," when he's telling Arthur the names of the debtors. Needless to say R* did a lot of foreshadowing on Arthur's fate. Dutch raising his drink to Arthur wishing him great health (mission when Cornwall caught up with the gang in Valentine). Pearson at camp saying the same when he received the game meat from Arthur.

I honestly wish we got more missions similar to the debt collection missions, as they're the only real missions in the game that highlight Arthur's morality and the consequences of him being in the gang. I know there's Ludonarrative dissonance in every video game, but it kind of bothers me how Arthur can feel such guilt over the debtors and then in the next mission he guns down an entire town with Dutch and Micah, killing a bunch of people who were just doing their jobs.
