I love Mississippi mud roast! One thing I often do is substitute fajita-style peppers and onions for the pepperoncinis. And one time I accidentally grabbed beef gravy mix instead of au jus mix and I couldn’t tell the difference.

Hey, Kevin. From what I recall, all the videos I've seen they make mashed potatoes out of normal potato chips (or, as we call them here in the UK, crisps) rather than Pringles. I think that would account for the odd, plastic look that they had. The ones I've seen using normal chips end up looking like real mashed potatoes. Keep up the good work, my man!

The version I saw was Pringles, but it was probably meant as a cringe video. I bet the emulsifiers and other additives caused some issues. Regardless it's... interesting.

The only real meat and potatoes are simple but feel the craftsmanship of the dishes.

Honestly, using dip or sauce powder mixes as a base for a stew type thing doesn't _not_ make sense - they're mostly dehydrated food and spices, and a thickener. I don't mind using powder sauce bases, this is just cooking the meat in the sauce instead of separately. Definitely would need to keep track of that salt content though, I can totally see how that would easily become way too much 😅

Ah, that's the science behind why browning meat changes its flavor. Wikipedia has the answers, but it's a good idea for wet cooking methods because steamed meat can be kinda bland.
