I just got this watch. Awesome review. I have worn it for about a month now and I can tell you it has not disappointed. In fact I havent been wearing it as much since I work at a hospital and during the times of COVID. I actually miss it and sometimes wear it just for being at home. Didnt realize it was the same movement as a RO. Will keep coming back for more reviews

@@unclecharles7976 unfortunately yes it does. It’s the brushed finish of it. I have one scratch on it and it is no longer my daily watch because of it.

Great watch. My criticism is if its only going to have a 40hr power reserve, they should remove the date complication. I would really love this watch then. This is my problem with a lot of AP watches. I think they should have a chrono only and no date on some models.

Thanks for sharing hafiz, another great video! U r right. We trust branding so much that we assumed that prestige brands brings the best watchmaking to the table. That unpolished/stained underside is a downer but having seen this maybe we can be more forgiving to lower tier brands.. Just maybe..

That’s the thing mate. We simply just take the name and assume it’d be the best. I agree, I feel the Seiko I reviewed last week, wasnt actually that bad 🤷‍♂️ but jokes aside, it’s not an excuse, and we pay such high costs all for high end watchmaking. Manufacturers need to invest time in making better watches, especially at this price tier. I’ll continue to uncover the hidden deficiencies through the power of macro and I hope my videos pressurise manufacturers to produce better and more refined watches. You’re right. It could spread and it may likely - time will tell. I’m going to have a closer look at other watches I have, and I have a feeling this won’t be the only one to have undersides not painted/machined. Like I said in the video, I think AP just don’t do it, and it’s really a shame given the price tag they carry.

Hafiz J Mehmood a case of planned obsolescence IMO. the bet AP is making is that the hands only needs to take you through to the next service at which point it’ll be replaced as a service item; therefore no need for a higher spec finish. makes me sad. There are only a few lux brands nowadays committed to doing things the right way

@@OilBaron No many brands care about hands much, even those high-end brands. For me hands are like the eyes of a watch. They have to be well designed and made to complete a great watch.

​@@leyay7540 Rolex's commitment to quiet product evolution means they rarely have this type of problem. ALS and Grand Seiko are also brands that get this sort of thing right. Patek and AP not so much these days, surprisingly

Great review as usual. You are an authority in this field. I love AP and enjoy your videos. I am in the market for a new offshore 42mm but cant decide between this or the "ghost". I prefer the rectangular pushers on the titanium, but I prefer the ceramic bezel of the ghost. I think that the ghost would always look newer due to the non scratch bezel, whereas titanium will scratch. What would be your preference from these two new offshore?

Many thanks for watching. For one between Ghost and this Titanium; it’s a bit of both situation. I’ll try to explain: Ghost: Ceramic bezel is an absolute joy and peace of mind. I have 44mm camo and I can’t emphasise enough how much of a relief it is - steel/titanium bezel are just hard. I personally don’t like Arabic numerals on the ghost or 42mm offshores so personally it breaks the break for me but I do like the chrono layout and iconic offshore looks it gives. Comes with exhibition caseback which is a huge plus. 42 titanium; I love the dial colour and the overall proportions of subdials Vs dial. I’m not a fan of titanium - too light and relatively easier to ding than steel. I don’t like lesser weight of titanium either. Metal bezel means it’s not tolerance to daily hits as ghost. I love the chrono pushers on this new Ti, so much that it just makes the deal for me over any other 42mm offshore. No open caseback but the movement inside is probably more sturdy. Thinner. So in summary; I normally buy my watches for aesthetics, and to me the titanium does look aesthetically more appealing, and I love the dial layout and everything about it. Ghost is overall a more tolerant watch and if you find the dial layout with Arabic numerals appealing to you, and don’t mind a tad thicker watch, then it may be the right option for you. I will personally pick Titanium over the ghost, but purely because of personal preference. Hope it helps and all the best.

Titanium Ceramic bezels aren’t a plus on ap. You don’t need a watch, especially ap, to look new. It’s meant to be used.

Nice timepiece and great video! My wrist is 6.5” and more rounded. I can pull off a 42mm Panerai Submersible, so should be able to pull off this one. Although this one may be longer lug-to-lug. I had a ROO Diver, but sold it because it was too clunky. I don’t think I’ll have that problem with the 26480TI. Or will I...? Case thickness - ROO Diver 14.1mm vs. 26480TI 12.8mm. The 26480TI is only 1.3mm thinner on paper, but still makes a big difference on the wrist. How do the lug-to-lug and furthest point plots/strap jet out measurements compare Diver vs. 26480TI?

Amazing video as usual! Do you think the titanium on this watch is more scratch resistant than Rolex’s oystersteel? I have a 214270 explorer and found that it isn’t too great with resisting scratches. It would be a shame to scratch the beautiful polishing on that watch!

oldenglish91 i think it’s a little too similar. But I would personally prefer this one over 26331 primarily because it gives more sporty looks and then the subdials compliment better with the casual looks.

I have wearing my ROO. But that wasn’t the diver one, rather the novelty. I only did it as my 44 ROO has ceramic bezel so you have a bit of additional peace of mind.

jimmyjay122 sorry for the confusion. No, the bezel has nothing to do with water resistance. It’s just that if you hit the watch during sporting activity, ceramic will be tolerant. Steel or titanium bezel will get dinged. Water resistance is fine on both and they’ll both be fine in terms of water resistance, if you take them for a swim.

Hafiz J Mehmood Ah ok 👍 Ceramic is surely more resistant to physical abuse. But I’m not really considering using it for anything that even qualifies as “water sports” :) Just the average splashing around in the pool to cool down from sun bathing :) It’s a bit annoying that I can’t wear ROs in the pool. So I wanted an AP that you can take for a swim other than the diver. And out of all the Offshores this is by far the thinnest, lightest and I always prefer this sub-dial arrangement.
