Great tutorial! One remark- enel’s bass is actually a form of subharmonic register bass, a bass technique that is more commonly known in the vocal singing world than in the beatbox community. This is a type of vocal bass which lines up the outward vocal fry with the regular chest voice. This is actually the bass xureck is using in his swissbeatbox shoutout video “insane vocal fry techniques”. Enel’s is slightly different because he lines up his outward vocal fry not with his regular chest voice, but with that “tight voice”/“jayton voice” that inertia and effaybee are very well-known for using. Fun fact, in the tuvan Siberian culture, they call throat bass/throat singing “kargyraa” and they call this “tight jayton voice” that we use in beatboxing “khoomei”, another vocal overtone technique. Anyways, enel’s amazingly talented for figuring out how to use this bass, but he was not completely correct in saying that his “electric bass” is simply vibration bass and vocal fry. That is not accurate. I can perform subharmonic register bass myself as well as enel’s variation, and i would describe it as a bass which is the result of lining up your tight/jayton voice/ khoomei voice with your outward vocal fry. When doing this with regular chest voice, it comes out very smooth and almost sounds just like your voice but an octave under, no texture changes like throat bass. For enel’s bass, using the tight voice with the subharmonic register make it sound much more “tin-ny” and gong-like.

I am unbelievably excited to find someone else who is as into the throat singing knowledge as I am, especially since I think I have something that I can share with you. With the car garage style, the sub harmonic Intonation actually comes from the vibration of your original cartilage, rather than your vocal folds, where as just with normal sub harmonic base, that comes from your false vocal cord vibrat a ratio of 3 to 5 to 1 another, so they're actually vibrating at different frequencies to one another, but that combination Over top of your Fundamental note being song with your actual vocal folds is what causes the normal sub harmonic note to ring out
@FrozenMermaid6664 ай бұрын
Subharmonics are a vocal technique, not a vocal register, and it is kinda like the opposite of the belting technique - when I use it, I can feel that it’s literally my chest voice being pushed to its absolute lowest using this subharmonic vocal technique, and I can sing A0 (and possibly even lower) using this vocal technique, even though I am not a dude, plus it makes my voice sound so deep and dark, just like the voice of a real bass, or even deeper than that, even though I have the highest and whitest / lightest / brightest voice ever, being the coloratura sopranino, and I am also practicing the throat bass and the robotic voices, by messing around with the pitch and sound projection, plus I can go from C6 to C8 in actual head voice, and I can easily belt A5 in actual chest voice, without going into mixed voice at all, as I am the best singer ever with the best vocal techniques and the most versatile voice, and even my whistle register goes from around the 4th octave to the 10th or 11th octave, having the widest natural ranges in all vocal registers and the most flexible and agile voice, and, I can even throat sing, so I’ve been practicing throat singing today, and I discovered one of the coolest vocal effects ever while practicing throat singing today, but, I cannot beatbox to save my life, as I cannot make any sounds with my lips, so I am trying to find a way to make most of those sounds directly from my throat, since it’s easier for me to use my real voices!

While Throat singing you get your normal vocal cords to vibrate in 2 different Rhythms... That causes the vocal cords to only hit each other every 3hit or so... That is called a „Subharmonic“ Google that, there are many good tutorials! David Larson does it great. So Throat singing doesnt need the Vestibular folds! But throat bass does. Throat bass is a subharmonic caused by the Vocal cords and the vestibula folds. Our vocal cords arent used to the extrem Vibration by the vestibular folds, thats why they hurt when you start practising. Great tutorial! Keep it up and much love from Germany!

Late to this video but now that my family is back after 7 months and I'm no longer basically completely alone in this house I finally gained the motivation to chase my goal and get to a level in beatboxing that I can have fun with it. At first I was concerned I´d look silly but in reality they don´t mind and my small sister likes me practising, lol. I already knew the basis for doing throat bass but the tongue tip helped me a lot in making it sound like a throat sound rather than just me masking my voice inside gurgles, maybe other newcomers can relate to what I mean? Been practising a few sounds for 3 days in a row now with this newfound motivation and I'm really excited. Thank you for all the entertainment and tutorials, it's about time I join y'all amazing beatboxing people and maybe one day even be able to teach other people some basics!
