I live on the East coast of South Africa and mozzies love me in the summertime. I used to use a eucalyptus oil spray which helped a little but now I swear by citronella body butter. Not only does it stop the bites but when I do get the odd one like on my stomach or back of my neck this cream reduces swelling and itching. It's amazing.

If I get bitten I always use "Germolene", as an antiseptic cream with the addition of it's local anaesthetic it works wonders and numbs the area so you don't scratch the bite.

I used to get bitten all the time wherever I went, even using Deet & other insect repellents that are supposed to work. Thankfully I discovered Incognito spray and haven't been bitten since! It contains PMD a natural insect repellent I bought from Boots. So many mosquitos around this year in the UK probably because of all the wet weather. I'm surprised that they didn't explain how the zapper they show worked, the Zap-Ease also acts like an anti-histamine. Good work This Morning!

I’ve trekked through jungles in Laos and Cambodia and never got bitten. I used to eat a teaspoon of Marmite every couple of ours and spray myself with lemon water, miraculously, it seemed to do the trick.

I get bitten to death by insects and swell up like mr Blobby. I learned to buy antihistamine locally as it's much more effective. I'm on holiday in Portugal and "Histacet" worked wonders. I also bought "Pranoram" repellent which stinks of Eucalyptus but works well. The local pharmacy were brilliant.

They used to love me but ignore me when I consume high strength garlic and attack the GF instead (also do not drink milk), before they would bite through two pairs of socks so I had wear HD boots all the time and have the mattress on the floor, otherwise they would hide underneath and attack me in the night. My (garlic-free) blood left them in such a blissful state that their mates would zoom in from miles away. Never caught anything in Asia, luckily.

It's really happening. Not yet in UK really but it may once and may be just matter of time. I'm tired of disbelievers in climate change while it's a fact. UK is one of safer places climate change-wise. I heard a lot about crazy heat in continental Europe and along Equator from people I know personally if someone wandered. This is not normal and if is not addressed immediately there will be consequences. In fact there are consequences already.

Yes lets promote nasty chemicals to deal with this issue 🙄...try uping your B vitamin in take either via B vitamin enriched foods like yeast extract or a vitamin B complex supplement or even brewers yeast ... that will help way more and be a long term solution, than spraying chemicals everywhere!!

If there was just one mosquito left in the world, it would find me and bite me, they love me!! So, I have extensive knowledge to prevent this happening after travelling many countries infested with Mozzies. They love it if you wear dark coloured clothes, especially Blue and black. So wear light coloured clothes. Try to avoid going out at dusk and dawn, this is when they are most active. It is a myth that by eating garlic, tonic water etc...... That this will reduce your risk of getting Bitten - Not true. If you are staying in accommodation that is near a river, sea or canals, this will attract them - I tend to spray the room with insect killer (Raid or other) just before I leave the room, turn all lights out and leave. When returning avoid keeping windows open or they'll find you!! If out and about and there are lots about, try to position yourself near an electric fan, being as they are so light, this will prevent them from landing on you. Obviously you can use repellents as mentioned, but they are greasy and oily, so can be uncomfortable on the skin. If you do get bitten DO NOT scratch it (it will be 10 x worse if you do). To help you - try Chickweed ointment - available at good health shops. It's natural and works wonders to stop it itching. If you follow all these steps - you probably won't get bitten. As the title reads - Is somewhat misleading- You could still get bitten. But by carrying out my recommendations, you'll massively reduce your chances. Good luck.
