I can vouch for the mental benefits. I had used creatine for quite a while, and was wondering if the gain benefits were worth the money, so I went a few months without as an experiment. I started to notice that I was feeling just blah at work, but didn't put two and two together until I decided to add creatine back. Almost instantly, I'm feeling 'ready' for work each day again. Not in the way an energy drink works, but just more overall clarity and focus.

Thank you Jonni. I appreciate your videos and updates. For many years I avoided Creatine because I believed the rumors. But now, even at 47, I am seeing increasing results physically and mentally.

Forgot to mention there is 20-25% people non-respondent to creatine. The theory is they extract it better from meat and food containing it or with colagen and build all up from there so no need for them to take it as supplement

Jonni dead right about creatine monohydrate being the one. I put creatine hcl as a distant second if monohydrate doesn’t agree with you. All other forms aren’t worth the experiment , expensive and bs.

Is creatine hydrochloride just as effective as monohydrate? I like the tartness hydrochloride gives my pre-workout drinks.

Is it safe for someone who has borderline CKD?
@JonniShreve10 күн бұрын
This is something I would definitely talk to your nephrologist about to make sure they clear creatine use, as it can affect already damaged kidneys. But generally should be safe at a lower dose 3mg

Jonni what's best creatine or creatine monohydrate ??
@Yoshi-wo1do9 күн бұрын
I think the reason creatin get's wrongfully associated with liver and kidney damage is that creatinin (note the similar names, but they are different tho) which is dangerous to your kidneys and liver, but has nothing to do with creatin but is produced in low doses by your muscles (usually low enopugh that it won't be an issue unless you have excessive amounts of muscle like when on steroids, at whicch point the slightly elevated dose of creatinin is not you main health risk)

I work out first thing in the morning. I usually have a cup of coffee right upon waking. I have heard people say that caffeine will negate the effects of creatine. Is this true? I would love to take it right before working out but want to be able to utilize it. So I guess my question is, does it matter when you take it? When is it most effective? Does caffeine cancel it out? Thanks for the info Jonni ✌️

I find creatine hydrochloride more convenient to use, because you need to take less than with monohydrate. I do use both. As far as I've seen from my research, there's nothing out there that indicates that hydrochloride is any LESS effective than monohydrate.

Hey Jonni, quick question, I've read you shouldn't take creatine with prewokout becasue the pre-workout counteracts the creatine, is that true? If so how far apart should I take them both?
@Martin-dg7ok9 күн бұрын
I've been taking it after my workout for 12 months and the other day I had a really good session where I went up on every lift and I couldn't work out what was different, I felt so good. Next few gym sessions I couldn't match the weight, then I remembered that I think I took my creatine before that good workout so I tried it again last week and had the same effect. I'm going to switch to taking it before all the time and see what happens. It makes me so thursty during the workout I'll drink 2 bottles of water
