Jack Ryan that’s 81 Million dollars Wow they really thought this movie would really be a success.
@mattwolf76986 жыл бұрын
Ryan the gamer fan I guess they figured a bunch of parents would take their young kids to see it. Still though that was a dumb idea as I don't think many parents want to be stuck in a theater watching an irritating toddler movie and with the price of movie tickets it probably drove them away even more, they probably just saved their money to go see other movies espeically if they also had older kids who wouldn't want to sit through this. Also this movie was a bad idea to begin with as it encouraged children to get up, out of thier seats and to sing in the movie theater and stuff. Once those kids got old enough to see Disney, Pixar and other movies that adults actually like watching as well, it would have been extremely annoying if the kids started getting out of their seats and singing during the movies as they would annoy the other movie goers. Theaters are already having enough problems with teens (and probably kids as well) texting during movies, kids pointlessly getting out of their seats and singing would be even more irritating than texting.

I agree with the Reception Wikis that getting an interactive movie for small children into theaters is a *TERRIBLE IDEA* to be fair. With that in mind, kids would easily fall off stairs, hit their heads on the seats, and parents would easily see every child they have as annoying as if each theater definitely made sure audiences will be quiet during each film showing. Oogieloves would’ve been better if it was direct to video or tv exclusive, but this is ridiculous.
@goingunder2548 Жыл бұрын
Right, like here in the UK, we have a channel, CBeebies, aimed at under-5s where a lot of the programming is something similar to the Oogieloves (but better executed) where kids are encouraged to learn through moving around, dancing etc. and involves real kids in familiar settings such as playgroups. If Oogieloves were improved to be more stimulating then it would be fine as another one of those interactive shows for toddlers. The only reason you would want to make it a theatrical release is pure arrogance.

Here's something hilarious; when the film was released, Anthony Oliver Scott of the New York Times reviewed it from the perspective of his seven year old daughter. According to her, she stated that she "thought it was for babies" and actually noticed that none of the children in the audience were paying attention to the film, and that the toddler whose family she saw it with fell asleep partway through the movie. That pretty much shows how out of touch with the target audience the creators were, and how the "It's a Kids' Film" excuse holds as much water as a colander.

I remember this movie was the only thing my sister would watch for like 2 months straight. There was never a time where this movie wasn’t playing on the TV for two months straight.

I think I remember seeing a trailer for this movie in the theaters and thinking it would be horrible. Apparently, my gut instinct is never wrong.

I actually saw a trailer for the Oogieloves in the theater one time. It was one of those things they only show when you get there really early. I didn't think much of it though.

Not even if it was 1948 (Kukla, Fran & Ollie was getting 70 share Nielsen ratings back then, no quantum of solace for the Oogieloves, not even a .007 rating!)

You're right, I did get excited when you said "Communist propaganda, blatant sexism, and offensive references to 9/11," because that at least would give us something INTERESTING to hate on this movie for. As it stands, this movie is just mind-numbingly blah.
