The completionist, regardless of the situation he claims, is complicit and deserves to be audited. He knew the money wasnt moving anywhere and had nearly a decade to donate the money to whatever charity he wants. He has a whole team of people on payroll that he could have made at least one do some research on every single charity in just a month or two, yet money hasn't moved in nearly 10 years. Really shows how much he cares

think about when charlie had the same charity issues back when he started out on YT, it's rough but at least charlie was honest and knew when to call it a day with the fake charities. and people like jacksepticeye and many others are able to raise charity like the completionist claimed to be doing

I mean if he states that "We'll be donating the funds to X, Y, Z" and then says "if you have recommendations where we can send the money" w/o sending any money to any of the X, Y, Z- that literally means he committed charity fraud. You cannot say that "this money will go to help a village called Harambe in Africa to help the children and get them a working water supply" and then NOT send them the money, the moment you understand that it's pretty much similar in terms of situation, it starts being inexcusable. I liked Completionist and was subbed to him for quite a while, but I can't help but feel like he used the charity money as an extra source of income, Social blade states that his channel's ANNUAL turnover is max 77k USD, which is NOT enough to have the type of office or lifestyle he seems to have had IN CALIFORNIA (+ what about his team??). Sure you could add in the sponsorships, but even then it's cutting it close. I'm not making a factual claim here, it's conjecture, but I can't help but feel like his actions and the story doesn't make sense, even gross negligence doesn't feel enough to explain this away. Not to mention that on the charity site they literally quoted that they supported an university and had a quote from the Dean who was literally fired 7 years before the Charity was established which is deceptive at the very least, malicious at worst. Edit: They definitely need to be audited, it's not on the level of drama, but rather a potential (highly likely) criminal act instead.

The excuses they gave for the money just sitting there were so bad. Maybe they would make sense if they did one charity event and then failed to give the money, but the fact that they kept doing more and more charity events and making claims on them that they were working with certain charities makes it straight up fraud

Disney managed to speed run the problems comics took 30+ years to run in to, prerequisite lore for characters that's unfriendly to casual viewers who don't want to read multiple wiki pages just to understand things, and power creep which is why both DC and Marvel have to reboot their entire universes every few years now.

@@zogwort1522 depends on the manga tbh. Many are just content copies of popular tropes that keep getting churned out, but there's also a lot that stand a cut above the rest with proper stories, writing and settings. The old generation of manga suits the description you put forward, because Shounen and Shoujo were the most popular then, but not now.
@yggdrasil2
@yggdrasil2 3 ай бұрын
@@Mizikame I think the real reason manga is becoming more and more popular internationally is threefold: 1) There is such a vast number of previously untranslated titles to market. All produced at a speed that the American and European industry isn't accustomed to. 2) They are easy to start reading and appear exotic and new to Westerners. 3) Thye have a symbiotic relationship with the anime adaptations, which unlike Western superhero shows and movies are made just when the mangas are gaining traction, creating a "raising tides lift all boats situation". Superhero movies also serve as partial marketing to an extent, but they take from so many sources for the characters (as there has been so much written) that it's hard for interested newcomers to know where to start, even though writers with good knowledge of the IP can make great movies that speaks to the fans in new ways. There has been a lot of examples of shows and movies based on western comics that have a beginning, middle and end, which tend to get good reviews and a cult following but not much else. Netflix, FX and AMC has been experimenting with this for the past ten years or so until finally making it work with the One Piece show. I haven't seen every show they've made, but I think a large part as to why One Piece worked was that it is a clear narrative that is easy to adapt in terms of story, while at the same time having such a treasure trove (heh) of material to reference for the fans and flesh out the world.

I always imagine IRS agents coming in to take your stuff if they find out you committed tax fraud (whether that is accidental or not). They take your house, car, etc. anything of value to pay off your unpaid taxes. Owing a debt to the feds is not advisable. However, I think there is a degree of necessity to the IRS. Otherwise, you would have everyone willing to and unafraid to commit tax fraud, which does hurt the people (although it also hurts the pockets of those high up in government organizations as well...)
@Maggot39967
@Maggot39967 11 ай бұрын
Yeah the guy arguing against the IRS is a little odd. You would take him for left wing and left wing really like government control to some extent at least, I am not calling them communists by the way, it's just typically true, like with social security. Whilst the right wing is mostly anti government control. The crazy part would be that I have never seen anyone on the left or the right seriously argue that the IRS shouldn't be a thing. The only people I know that feel that way are people who have been randomly audited, like my best friend who was broke and was being evaluated because they picked his name out of a hat. He fucking hates them but oddly enough even he thinks they are important, even though they took like 50 hours of his life away by talking to him on the phone. So overall I suck and I don't know why I wrote a book about this. Also fuck politics I hate it all.

The problem with phase...whatever it is now, is that they are trying to add on to an already completed story. After Endgame they should have done what they did in No Way Home. A near complete reset of the characters. Get everyone in a new position in a changed world. Building a new generation wasn't the wrong move to make, but trying to build it off the backbone of the old one was. Spider-man is going to come into any new avengers team as his own fully realized hero rather than Tony's old protégé. The same really can't be said of anyone else so far, save maybe Shuri but that's more out of circumstance than actual creative writing. If we want to take it a step further I think they should have used No Way Home or Multiverse of Madness to straight up jump to a new universe and make that the new setting of the MCU. New rules, new origins, new ACTIVE heroes to be introduced to rather than another origin story to tell. Have Spider-man dumped in a universe where the avengers never formed, instead the fantastic four was the first hero team. The X-Men are around. Deadpool is doing his thing. It would have been the best way to bring in new blood without needing to tread old ground.

@sarah2cold377
@sarah2cold377 11 ай бұрын
@@TheGreatestJediOfAllTime Oh I know it's possibly, but I also don't think it's possibly with the current marvel format. The guys thought the movies should return to individual stories and bring them back together for a big even like the original avengers, but I disagree. They should have gone the opposite route and brought things even more together where basically every movie is an Avengers movie, and I think that's the problem they ran into. It's just not feasible to continually bring those characters together all the time. Not to mention the lack of screen time, do you remember that meme'd scene in Far from Home? "Where is so and so?" "Oh they're doing literally anything else right now" Because of stuff like that it just makes all the plots seem contrived and drawn out when realistically some other hero really should have gotten involved at some point. There is really no excuse for peter having to deal with Mysterio on his own. That's why I suggested a full reset in a new universe. Stories that cover established characters and why they don't interact with each other beyond "oh, they're just busy". Bring it back to phase 1 where they might not even know about each other so of course they wouldn't help.

I think the reason for the charity stuff is more simple than people think. Content/exposure. Charity events are always bigger than the person running it and can keep them relevant or even get more eyes on their stuff. They dont make money from the charity (that we know of) but subs and views on videos about it from the exposure of having Jamie Lee Kurtis? Not to even mentions potential connections being made. That's worth doing. The second part of holding onto the money after is probably just saving it to dump into something at once for even more content (since hes the "completionist") it would be to build a new research center or something.

Think yall missed the point on what an indie studio is. Larian Studios is definitely indie, it is privately owned. From Software is not an indie studio, it is owned primarily by Kadokawa Corporarion, and minority stakes by Tencent and Sony

I think the biggest snub with the game awards is that there was not a single nomination for Octopath Traveler 2. Objectively a great game with a phenomenal soundtrack and I'll be that guy, I liked it more then, Mario Wonder, And Resident Evil 4.

The thing that I worry about with GTA 6 is I feel like rockstar already jumped the shark with 5 like in 5 you have laser weapons, flying cars, a yacht, a jet pack, car with a parachute, dozens of jets, and you can get a literal submarine. And so much more. like I worry that they ran out of ideas or they’re just gonna redo the same thing and it’s just gonna be a rehash of 5

I don’t know what Kaya is on about about the GTA thing making money. Charlie and Jackson are saying no they can get away with being “unsafe” and violent but Kaya is arguing no they’re gonna pander to the “safe side” and then he says they’re trying to make the same point. I don’t know why they don’t call him out more about that. He’s just trying to slither away from being in the wrong.

kayas a weirdo, if you simply see the hours of leaked gta 6 gameplay youd see its still edgy. kaya just likes to constantly be on weird side of topics. and jackson is also wrong about rockstar losing most of its leadership. dan housers brother is still there and will assure gta will still be gta. same art director thats been there since the very start. same writers (excluding dan) and same everything else. i hate podcasts that talk about things when doing 0 research

Games like cyberpunk shouldn’t be nominated for best ongoing support. I dislike the fact that we nominate games that release terribly and then just overtime become what they were promised to be, the more we celebrate it the more it seems fine. Also I think kaya needs to relax what he sees about people being soft on twitter is twitter most people are normal and seems just as whiny ngl

You realize that word was "unironically" used as a positive thing originally, as a way for social leftists to refer to themselves, right? If you don't like it being used, take that up with the people who created the term, not the people who mock them for using it. You're talking about Kaya yelling at clouds, yet you're getting angry about people using a term you don't like. Go back to Hasan if you can't stand hearing people who have different opinions from you.
