I actually kind of like the idea of Aliens talking with AI voices. Like, maybe that’s just the universal translator turning his squeaking and screeching into human words that his vocal chords couldn’t have made on their own.

Actually it is not a team of developers, it is a one man project in its base. Burak Dabak is the main developer where he gets some help from freelance developers. But definetely not an organized team, he uses freelancers where he needs them. He was just a normal human, where he doesn't even know any technical details about computers or game development. He started as a side hobby, where the hobby became his main life. You may ask, where do I know all of this? He is a friend of mine :) which I definitely envy of. I'm very much into programming and computer tech but didn't try any game development. He started from zero to became a somewhat serious game developer in just 4-5 years.

This game really isn’t comparable to star citizen, star citizen is like arma almost, everything is realistic and everything takes time to do. On the other hand This game is very Arcady and everything is made convenient for gameplays sake its just not the same kind of game. Ironically it’s more like freelancer then star citizen which is funny because star citizen started off as freelancers spiritual successor. As far as star citizen goes there still isn’t any other game on the market that will attract the same audience because it is so Ridiculously over ambitious which is why it’s stuck in development hell and will never be finished. Wow, and this entire game seems to be the work on *one guy*. In Turkey, though it seems he's one seriously hard-core gamer. From the About page on his website: "He has been active in the computer and game industry for years. He wrote for magazines such as Chip, Merlin'in Kazanı and GamerTR, and he was a writer and editor for GameHQ. He was tasked as an official/unofficial beta tester for major companies like Blizzard and Microsoft. He also won second place in Bitek-o Design Competition, first place in Quake 3 Tournament amongst Turkish players, and second place in Warcraft Frozen Throne Tournament amongst Turkish players. After studying on game programming and graphical design for several years he has created his first game project MESEL. After about 2 years, he designed the second game SpaceBourne."

@@GameBos Like No Man's Sky does it. You have a translator in your suit, but since you're a "fresh iteration" it's got nothing to work with. You have to find artifacts and ask for direct translations to words to build up the word bank of your translator so you can understand what everyone is saying to you. You can build auto-translators to grease the wheels, but they still can't get everything unless you've learned enough words.

It gives me vibes of Knights of the Old Republic where you got to go from your ship, to planets and roam the planets and then space stations have their own inner workings and so on. It's really neat that you can basically just jump off the planet and boost up to your space ship, then get in your space ship and boost to a giant space station or another planet and they have their own environments full of stuff to do. This is really ambitious but it I am impressed. This seems like a lot of fun.

That really looks impressive for such a ridiculously small team... one person. Dogfighting had real Freelancer vibes. Not sure if it is quite there yet but I've seen worse bugs in AAA release candidates...

i can never tell from watching splat play, and scanning through the video doesn't show me well. does this game have drifting like in freelancer? that was always the most important vibe for me in a spaceflight game and i never see splat even try it.

... Dammit. That KZbin channel is turning into an expensive habbit. But I gotta thank you Splatty, I'd never heard of that game otherwise. It's janky, VERY early access, but it looks like sooo much fun.

Misactor is apparently something mining related. You can apparently "mine" every surface in the game.

Maybe the lack of an ammo counter is a realism thing? Most modern guns don't include an ammo counter although it would be possible to implement. You do not want to overcomplicate things wot go boom. More complexity means more things that can break.

Promising looking game! If you can live with its jankiness, it's a cool little game with big ambition. 36:20 Strong Elite Dangerous vibes there. The game looks like an Elite/NMS/ME hybrid and I like it!

Certainly can't fault the guy for aiming high! Even what we've seen so far is a massive achievement

@@DrBunnyMedicinal Exactly. The "jank" amounted to what - collision boxes not matching rock textures, TTS synthesised voiceovers, and one instance of an audio loop not stopping? This is done in Unreal, presumably largely in C++ (can't imagine this is all implemented with Blueprints), by a single very junior developer, is in EA and there's been no crashes? People need to understand how monumental of an achievement this really is.

This one seems kinda interesting. It gave me Everspace 2 vibes. Next game you gotta try is Carnal Instinct. I'd love to hear your commentary on it.

i've only played a couple hours of it and i already love it, it scratches my freelancer 2 itch lol really loving the mix between space travel and combat mixed with ground combat, i cannot wait to see what this game is like once its refined loved going to random villages on planets and looting there stuff and having to kill an entire village just for stealing some armor lol.

Right as Splat said it I was thinking Mass Effect. This game has so much more going on than some $70 AAA titles. I know there's a lot of work left to go, but what's there is massive!

35:34 lol that's a startrek thing when it came to the beaming transporters, but if this works like a stargate, it's instantaneous travel, which means it's not exactly a teleporter, it just sent you through a much faster FTL or hyperspace window.
