Oh, Ed. I know what vertigo is like. I've lived with it on and off for 20 yrs, and its miserable when it flares up. I hope you're feeling better! Orchids are looking great!

Thank you Newman....I've got three very tiny seedlings of Phrags.....I've planted them in very small pots with small lave rock.....it will be interesting to see if there will be progress with them.....they have been in a small bark.perlite and oyster shell mix and done nothing!!....hope all is well with you....take care, Ed.

Happy first day of Autumn Ed! I hope you feel better into this new week. I still have my five vanda orchids outside. It's staying about 55 degrees at night here for at least the next ten nights. Three of my vandas are just now developing spikes. My one Stanhopia outside should bloom this week. I probably will have to bring them indoors sometime in October. Your Prag at the end of the video is breathtaking! Have a great week, James

Hi Ed😌🙌That was a good decision to get your vertigo checked out, especially for those of us already om medication. I see the Cattleyas are still giving you a hard time. Try putting them in the lava rock or mounting them on cork 'barerooted' and don't use any sphagnum moss. I find Cattleyas grow and develop roots when they are kept dry, so after watering they must dry out in an hour completely. Then in several weeks you will see the new roots. I also have two cattleya still in pots Ed and they were lucky to live because I had two othes that rotted over summer. I enjoyed seeing your orchids and happy growing Ed💖

Hi Newman......sorry I'm a little late with this reply to your comment.......I'm pleased to say that the vertigo is very much better and hopefullywill have gone by next week. I really think my Cattleyas are too far gone to have any hope for them but I will keep on trying......if I can get one to survive I'll be happy.......they are already in lava rock..........but whatever state certain plants are in we must always try to do our best for them.......take care and thank you, Ed.

Love seeing the updates Ed! We both started transitioning our collections into lava rocks around the same time. So I really pay attention to see the results you’re having too. I have a garciana that I think might need to go into larger lava rock and actually dry out more. I figured being from the Encyclia alliance she would appreciate smaller rocks and more moisture. oh man, vertigo is terrible, I feel for you. I get it when I am having a "silent migraine". First time it happened I thought it was a stroke and went to the hospital. Took 6 months and 2 different neurologist to figure out what was going on. Angraecum Crestwood is blooming a bit early this year, no? Usually blooms around Christmas? I'd like to see blooms on my "three spur" variant this year but I am not holding my breath.

Couldn't agree with you more regarding the vertigo Michael.....it's not something i would wish on anyone. My Angaecums generally begin to spike in September and, as you say, will bloom around |Chistmas time........don't know what happened to this one!.....I expected more than one spike this year.....any suggestions regarding getting more next year???.......thanks michael and take care, Ed.
