It’s out on Apple Arcade and it’s a ton of fun. Outside the main game they have a ton of events and challenges to do, chars to unlock with diff skills.

@@aftermath6027 It really reminds me of the Mobile Oregon Trail we got back in 2012 or so, but improved in every single aspect so I'm all for it! Well, except for the fact I can't really keep up with mobile devs anymore, Gameloft and Glu Mobile (two, at the time very major contributors to the mobile market) have fallen off for me nowadays. Haven't played a proper game of theirs in years, with the exceptions being their older titles. I still visit Green Farm on my Java Touchscreen Nokia 5230 haha

I remember playing this game in school, where we had the floppy discs 💾 and the green screen. I bought the Target-exclusive handheld of this game and I still play it. It’s design is awesome. It looks like an older Apple Mac computer. I also play this on my iPad and there’s even an app for the Apple Watch where it takes the steps you take and adds then to your trip on the Trail. It even has trivia about each of the stops along the way. Nobody dies of dysentery though 😅. I can’t wait to play this on the Switch.

I'll probably play it, but honestly doesn't have the majesty of the sequels like oregon trail 2, 3, and 4. Would have rather had cheesey 90s style fmv over this weird ps2 looking 3D with 2D elements mixed in. That old fmv and voice acting gave a lot of personality to your wagon crew which I imagine will be missing here.

Is there a mode that makes the game look more like the OG DOS original? Obviously the new stylization and engine is great to see, but I'm assuming many who want to play this would prefer it playing (or at least looking) like the MS-DOS original for nostalgic sake

Ah, I used to play the absolute hell out of the HD version (on Windows Phone out of all devices) It's nice seeing them go back to an actual Oregon Trail game (Settlers was a bs cash-in building game and you can't deny) but man, I'm not sure if I can go back to Gameloft. Last time I ever really gave a damn was when they were making the mobile titles of Assassin's Creed on Nokia devices (mainly Java Touchscreen) and the early Android era of their "HD" games. Honestly, I think that Gameloft has become too "mainstream" in a sense. I miss the cute old days of when you logged onto Green Farm 1 and used social features on that old yet beautiful Facebook platform. Man, those were the days...
