Congrats on (pretty much) completing the gameboy mark! Just want to point out that Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter are exceptions to 3DS Online ending on 8th April 2024 - they will probably be taken offline at some point in the future, but you have a lot longer than just 2 months! One thing that is almost certainly going offline though is the Friend Safari in X&Y - so since I'm doing something similar to you, I'm making it a point to get everything I can from there with its Hidden Ability, so I get that, the gen 6 pentagon mark, and the Kalos met location, on all the Pokémon that I can.

You are correct that poke bank isn’t necessarily shutting down in April. Hopefully we get more time! God luck with the friend safari! Have you found any good groups of people still sharing codes for that?

Sorry for the late reply but how did this challenge go for you? I am attempting to get a Living Dex of Pokémon at their lowest level and a handful of those come from Friend Safari, I got a couple before the shut down but there's a ton I'm missing

@@atemnott7062 I got bored of my X playthrough shortly after making this comment, so didn't end up doing it. It's still on my to-do list though, and thankfully the Friend Safari is still usable! It's actually a mostly offline area, and only needed to be online to set the flag for slot 3. There's a couple of YT videos and Reddit threads that explain how to use 3DS dev tools and PKSM to add friends and unlock slot 3 in each Safari (e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3jQdoqlh7qHhq8). I was expecting to be waiting on Pretendo compatibility, but that seems to be unnecessary! Thankfully it's surprisingly easy to mod your 3DS ;) Had I made the progress I originally planned though, I'd have been actively using /r/FriendSafari, a subreddit which is now archived. That sounds like a fun challenge though - good luck! Part of my challenge has been getting all of the underlevelled Pokémon in each set of games, which are especially prominent in the earlier gens that I'm currently playing, especially with how in-game trades worked.

I started my living form dex last year. My intent is to catch/evolve the Pokemon in the region they originated from, all with the same trainer name, and all caught in Pokeballs if possible. I'm at 95% completion after playing on and off for a year. I modded my 3DS XL so I can play gens 1-7 on one console. I will admit I did cheese some things. For Pokemon like Deoxys or Shaymin that have multiple forms I saved before doing their event, backed up the save, caught them, exported them to PSKM, and loaded the save before I caught them. So each one is unique and I still had to go through the process of legitimately catching them. It just saved me a ton of time.

@@vinny9500 ohhhh congrats! I thought about doing something with the pokeball, but ended up cutting that. I might go back for that as a stretch goal or something. I do a bit of a similar thing in certain cases with save states too. I’ll cover those cases when I get to them of course. I feel like that’s an ok use of pksm and save states 👍🏻

@@mrtylersquared Thank you. The main ones I am missing are all the Unknown, and the legendaries from SV and PLA. I have to play PLA twice, replay Scarlet, and do my first Violet playthrough. So I've been procrastinating on that lol. I was going to cheap out and get all the Unknown through PLA because "they are tied to Arceus so it's not cheating right?" But against my better judgement, I am going back and getting them in gen 2 and 3.

Have you included Galar Weezing? I think there are only two Koofings in the video (Koofing and Weezing) but there is not a third Koofing in the cross-evolution part, for Galar Koofing

So I’m counting forms and some gender differences. (Jellicent yes, but not venusaur for example) True the unowns add a bunch too

A Gameboy Mark without forms, only different species, will have a total of 275 Pokemon, thanks to being 24 cross-generation evolutions for generation 1-2 Pokemon. But if we include different forms there are much more. 251 Gen1-2 pokemon plus 25 additional Unknon forms, 1 Galar Evolution (Weezing), 1 Hisui Form (Typhlosion), 3 Alolan evolutions (Marowak, Raichu, Exeguttor), 17 Gen 4 evolutions, 1 Gen 6 evolution (Sylveon), 3 Hisuin evolution (Wyrdeer, Ursaluna and Kleavor), 4 Gen 9 evolutions (Farigiraf, both forms of Dudunsparce, Annihilape). That makes 306 and the last one could be one gender difference. There are 47 Pokemon with gender differences from generations 1 and 2, which will make a total of 353 but he said he is not going for all gender differences.

@@mrtylersquared And honestly this stressed me out to a level that I actually stopped playing for the unseeable future three days ago and now feel much better doing so. I didn't have any fun anymore.
