This is a clip of a match featuring two of the great gimmick wrestlers of the 50's. Here the most hated heel in wrestling over the 1950's and 1960's, The Sheik takes on the behemoth Mighty Jumbo. The Sheik would own the Detroit Territory but would headline across the country. Born as Ed Farhat, the University of Michigan football player would morph into one of the most hated wrestlers of all time. The mad man Sheik uses every weapon at his disposal here. This clip is from a great highlight film featuring the most popular wrestlers from the 50's. The film is a bit rough and jumps in spots but is great fun. This film was put out by the Schlitz Brewing Company and distributors would loan the films to local bars for an event.

Best Sheik story ever, courtesy of Jim Cornette. Some guy Farhat went to college with showed up at Cobo Hall for a card, demanding Ed, whom we recognized, come out of the dressing room. Sheik RAN out of the dressing room, bear hugs the guy, whispers in his ear "I AM Ed Farhat, and I will kill you!" Guy runs off, never heard from again

THANKS TO SABU I MET ED FARHAT IN THE BACK OF THE ECW ARENA IN PHILADELPHIA AND HE WAS SO IMPRESSED WHEN SABU TOLD HIM WHILE WORKING FOR THE SPECTRUM I CONSTANTLY WOULD ASK VINCE AND LINDA MCMAHON IF THEY WERE GOING TO BRING IN ED TO THE WWF WHEN WE WOULD HAVE WRESTLING IN OUR BUILDING EACH MONTH. I GO PICTURES WITH ED AND THEN ALMOST SAID THANKYOU TO HIM USING HIS NAME ED, CAUGHT MYSELF AND JUST RENEMBER HOW BIG HIS HANDS WERE.

1:05 "The Sheik is quick to retaliate as he grabs Jumbo by the ears and throws him out of the ring"! No he doesn't! He first grabs his t-shirt/leotard, then he puts his hand behind Jumbo's neck and eventually gets him out of the ring!

Dave Smith In fairness, this was in his younger days, where he didn't rely on shortcuts inside the ring. The Sheik was much more then biting, foreign objects and fireballs, despite what the nay-sayers claim.
