Yeah bc she probably had to take soooooooooo many vocal lessons to get an American accent bc when she was on the vampire diaries her accent was TERRIBLE... it gets better each season on the originals though so you can tell that between living and working in the US and taking speech lessons she has gotten the hang of it. I don't blame her though... I've watched h2o and she had a VERY thick Aussie accent - and Im American and think Aussie is one of the hardest to imitate because the sounds are so different from in American English - so I'm sure that works both ways. Plus, whenever you live and work somewhere with a different accent, your original one starts to fade. I know bc growing up I had a thick NY accent, but when I went to college in Connecticut for 4 years where they have "no accent" and pronounce everything phonetically I lost my NY accent out of necessity bc people at stores and stuff could never understand me hahahaha and also obviously from being around people w that accent. And since I've moved back to ny years ago... my ny accent is back thicker than ever.

when u realize Phoebe has an australian accent but an american one on TO. just so u know kids, when ur born with british or australian accent, it is extremely difficult to learn to talk with american one. doing the british accent it's so much easier then undoing it, believe me

Honestly it's pretty obvious that her American accent is fake. Any time she says a word that ends in "er" (like "power"), her Aussie nature slips through. She's also slipped a few times with words that end like "ah". She sometimes adds an "er" (like "Rebek-er" instead of Rebekah)

Phoebe has the strangest accent. She was born and raised in Australia for like 20 years and yet you can barely even hear any Australian in her accent, her pronounciations are primarily American/English sounding yet in H2O she had a very clear thick Aussie accent??

Emma Cameron it's hard going back to an Aussie accent when you're on set for 12 hours as Hayley who is American, and also there is a mix of accents around like she said herself, she and Claire are Aussies so they have to switch, Danielle and Charles are American so they stay the way they are, Joseph is British and he doesn't have to change too, and Daniel is from New Zealand, while Nathaniel is Irish I think. Imagine the mix of accents going around

Nathaniel buzolic is Australian, Nathan Parsons (Jackson) also australian-moved-to-america. I realised there's lots of us aussies in the originals... Lucian and Aurora too etc I have to agree, being Australian it is much easier to imitate a British accent than it is an American one.
