So it’s basically going through Elijah’s mindset as a vampire. It explains why he’s so calm even in the face of killing hundreds of people. He hides all his emotions of pain and guilt behind this “red door” since every memory is in it. Remember this Jer, it’ll be very important to remember how Elijah’s mind works Such a beautiful yet complex character

Daniel Giles does a brilliant job this episode. Such an intresting episode, love them exploring Elijah's memories and emotions more. Cami always speaking FACTS. Klaus's family and friends turning up to fight with him is such a great moment. Klaus finding strength in family rather than fighting his father alone is a lovely development from TVD, as is him risking his life for Cami with no hesitation. Esther is cruel and controlling af, her actress does a lovely job with her speeches.

I understand that some of the plot lines feel repetitive but I think that the writers brought this back for new viewers. They might have understood that there are viewers who never watched tvd. This might have not been their main reason but it makes a little bit of sense to me because I watched the Originals before the Vampire Diaries and there was never a moment where I felt confused. Of course when they did the crossovers I wouldn't know who the characters were but other than that I was good.

Same here, started The Originals and loved this storyline. And even now, after watching all of TVD, the storyline is still unique because it acknowledges the fact that they're in the cycle of their parents trying to kill them and with their future endeavors it pays off the "parents trying to kill them" plot. I just hope he keeps on open mind about why they brought the storyline back

Yeah Tom was actually supposed to fall in love with Elena since they were both humans and Kathrine and Stephen were destined since they were basically both vampires but no no fate didn't have it that way. Intresting to know Elena was supposed to be with Tom all along and ended with Stephen and Damon and still never met Tom....I think?

@@saihorton1360 yeah Elena never met Tom. And actually Stefan and Katherine were not meant to be together. When they met, there were other doppelgängers within their timespan. Some fans even theories that the father of Nadia is one of Silas’s doppelgänger, and that’s why Katherine felt a connection with Stefan. But Katherine had her own, and so did Stefan, but fate worked differently. Just like how Elena never met Tom, but met Stefan instead

Not likely... There is an 1000 years gap between Amara and Tatia, it is safe to assume that there were many doppelgangers in between. (if you mean that only about the ones that WE know about then yes, chronologically she is the 2nd from them short list of the ones we know about)

I've said it twice and I didn't want to say it again, but I just can't help it... it wouldn't have worked to make Rayna a Doppelgänger, because for the traveller spell in s5 to work there was just one elena doppelgänger versions aloud, since rayna was alive at the time the travellers would have had to kill her (or elena) first. Also since the doppelgänger gene came through isobel to elena, jeremy wouldn't have even been related to rayna, since he wasn't related to isobel.

I'm sorry... so many people hate Devina but she's one of my favs 😭 my favorite thing about this show is how I love every character regardless of if they're villains or not (Other than season 3 but you'll get to that🥴) I also love the parallel to the vampire diaries when Elijah is chained up and Hayley is saving him but it's an illusion, like when Rebekah was torturing Damon and Elena was untying him, the little things that the writers do right.

Furthermore, that villain would've returned at the end of the series as the final villain after/beside Cade (who was already planned in some way because the devil was a villain in the books), not Katherine.
