Much like with the new Joker film and the comics White Knight and Killing Joke- Joker was no mob boss, no legendary figure from Gotham’s past, and not the man who killed Bruce’s parents. He was just... some guy. Some random, horrifically unlucky guy, who later became a legend. I like that about Joker, so I can certainly see the appeal of this idea.

Well, its not as if the emperor just slaughters those who disagree with him, but his presence is so extreme that men fall into worship, while malcador was able to see him as another human, instead of simply his lord. Malcador was one of the few who didn't simply fall into worship upon sight of the Emperor, but was able to see him as a man. That in and of itself can create a solid connection between the two. For all we know malcador could be a failed prototype primarch. It would be more powerful if he was simply the penicle of humanity, the best we could be without augmentation, or excessive waprfuckery via suicide magic. Lets not forget this man straight up psychically bitch slapped horus into submission in the presence of 2 other primarchs.

The emperor wasn’t like the more zealous or power mad people that would come to power within the imperium. Anyone could tell him no for any reason he wouldn’t just kill you on spot. Of course it’s all very situational but the emperor was one of the most rational people during his time.

I haven't read any of the books, but I know storytelling, and I bet he was not only able to say no to him, but everytime he did, I bet he had another option for the emperor to take. So not only did he have the charisma to see the Emperor as a man, and the intelligence to be of use, but the wisdom to help the Emperor fight for his goals more effectively than the Emperor could have otherwise. If it's a ragnarok metaphor, Emperor is Thor, Malcador is Odin, Horus (and everyone warped) represents Loki and his children. I have two theories. Ragnarok ended and Guilliman is Baldur, or Ragnarok is ending, and Sanguinius is Baldur and will return to inherit and rule a new empire.

You got the end wrong. When Malcador took the throne the E declared " behold, Malcador the Hero" When Dorn brought back his broken body Malcador gave his final power to awaken the E who then gave instructions to Dorn on how to hook him up to the Golden Throne. Malcador turned to dust after he gave his last power. Also in the latest HH short, after Malacador nearly killed Horus we learn Horus became obsessed with Malcador and learned everything about him...including his war crimes etc. The Khan relayed all of this to him as he was there just before the dawn of the siege.

That part about Malcador saying that some of the Primarchs should have been made female(and they really should have, the Primarchs are supposed to be the pinnacle of human potential and femininity is half of that) reminded me of a question I have. If I had to guess it may be the case that Malcador might be a earlier version of the process that created the Emperor. IT would make sense for the Shamans to want to try a smaller scale test to see if their ritual would even work. Add into the fact that with the Warp time is not a constant, it certainly would be possible for the 'test version' that Malcador was could have been born in the Materium after the Emperor.

I personally think Malcador is no fate-tied legacy child, but rather, simply the most powerful Psyker on Terra prior to the Emperor, brought into the fold for his talents, knowledge and undying faith to the cause of Unity. Duncan Idaho wasn't naturally born as a Kwisatz Haderach. Leto the second (the second Leto II) who became God Emperor, was. Just like his father Paul. It was the final ghola of him, that the Tleilaxu used as an experiment by combining the DNA from the previous gholas of Idaho, that became "the final Kwisatz Haderach". That's just one of the stupid changes Kevin J Anderson and Brian Herbert made with their continuation of the Dune series, along with their Butlerian Jihad series (which directly links to their continuation from after Frank Herbert's last published book), and the other prequel books they wrote. The Sensei must age - they wouldn't grow to maturity if they didn't, though it could be that they age incredibly slowly - like Malcador. Also, unless it's known that the Sensei are infertile, then there are probably descendants of the Emperor who are not his direct children but his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren etc. So there are many ways in which Malcador could be a blood relative of the Emperor.

Aging and growth are two distinct things, there are species on Earth that are age wise immortal but they do grow. Some of them have problem that grow never stops so they die because they are too big, but that is another issue. If you would define that things that don't age cannot mature then Emperor wouldn't grow to maturity either.

Two questions : What if Malcador is the result of another mass suicide or the shamans' descendance. What if the chaos god manage to harness the souls of the shamans during their ritualistic suicide and corrupt them to create an "Emperor of Chaos" just imagine the 41st millenia with a chaotic imperium.

It's possible that Malcador's body is, in fact, the Emperor's original body, with the psyche of Malcador having been fashioned by the Emperor to inhabit the body, or being the composite psyches of the shamans that created the Emperor. In the novel Vengeful Spirit, it details how the Perpetual Alivia Sureka was tasked by the Emperor to guard the warp gate after he had returned from it. Alivia remembers helping carry and support the Emperor as they left the vault the warp gate was contained within, and how even his mind had been damaged by the experience, as he was projecting his thoughts and visions uncontrollably into Alivia's mind. At the end of Vengeful Spirit when Horus returns from beyond the gate and describes his experiences, Aximand notes that Horus had aged noticeably. It's also worth noting that the Emperor spent a great deal of time on Molech during the Dark Age of Technology as the Stormlord, shaping the Knight culture and that references to the Stormlord were still common during the Horus Heresy, and that these references all refer to the Stormlord as a seemingly ordinary individual, riding a horse. Following the Emperor's interaction with Chaos on Molech during the Dark Age of Technology, he used his newfound knowledge to create for himself the Primarch style body so often portrayed and possibly created the psyche of Malacador in a similar way to how Daemons are created from the Chaos Gods.

Its a deep and interesting theory, but one of the novels or short stories details corax meeting big E for the first time, corax noticed all his comrades overwhelmed by big E's presence but corax only saw a simple, ordinary, completely average human and was confused by the men around him, and when he continued to look at big E he started to notice the projected psychic aura that others were seeing and his brain fought to reconcile the 2 vastly different images

I always felt that if Blue Boy got Ynead to try and heal/resurrect the Emperor. The Emperor would decline, having Ynead resurrect the only person who died on the Golden Thrown. Image what a resurrected Malcador could do for Blue Boy? If nothing else Blue Boy wouldn't be alone and he would have the wisdom of Malcador, someone his father relied on in the past. Who could help Blue Boy lead the Imperium and be that baddass uncle that he seemed to be to the Primarch's.

Keep up the videos Inquisitor. They help me disguise -myself- other Alpha Legionaries, into the Imperium. I once made a mistake so bad with one of the casualties of the Battle of Pluto. Could it have been possible that the Emperor used some of his own essence to create Malcador so he could have someone that he could call equal or as close to equal one could possibly be? Would be pretty darned lonely to have nobody that could live longer than a standard human lifespan to share your dreams with, to share your secrets with, to share your powers with and to assist you in any way shape or form without too much difficulty. The Emperor could've known he would have been insanely busy and needed someone almost on par with himself to run the Imperium of Man, to ensure the Primarchs along with their Legions were conquering the galaxy as ordered and ahead of schedule.

Anyways, you had misread my original comment, I tried to make it as plain and as easy to understand as I could but seems I have failed at that. To make it clearer..... The Emperor could have used his massive psychic potential to create (strongly emphasise on the word create) a being who that could have a fragment of his power, intellect, massive lifespan, gravitas, charisma, wit, guile, cunning and other attributes the Emperor had himself. There's 2 methods to create a perpetual; Resurrect someone from death such as with John Grammaticus or be born a perpetual such as Vulkan or Ollanius Pius (Someone who is born with this ability is known as a true perpetual)

If he started off as a true perpetual but is now an artificial one (prior to losing the trait completely in Unremembered Empire), then by that logic wouldn't that mean his perpetuality was artificially created? ;) The novel 'Legion' also has Grammaticus refer to when Slau Dha first resurrected him, which transformed him into a perpetual: 'My first death,' Grammaticus answered in kind. ‘Anatol Hive. I never asked you to save me, autarch. You chose to do that, remember? You chose to re-sleeve me in flesh and make me your agent. Don’t you dare start calling in favours that I never asked for. If he was already a perpetual, then why would he need to have been 'saved' and resurrected by a third party when he could just heal himself?

There is something I heard of that was suggested as an origin for the Emperor but I wonder if it might fit Malcador. One of the suggested origins was the result of Dark Age technology and that the Emperor had been created during this time. Maybe Malcador was the result of that project. But I don't have anything to back it up, just a post in an asksciencefiction reddit thread.

Just a random comment but I wanted to point out I loved Malcador in The Solar War. He’s just trying to what has to be done and terrified at the fact that in his weakness he could doom everything he’s helped build. Even challenging Garviel to kill him if he has a problem with it. Also when he appears to the Emperor in the warp and the Emperor just says “Goodbye, old friend”

Maybe Malcador is not the Emperor’s son, but his father. His father for whose unjust murder the Emperor killed his own uncle. Perhaps he resurrected him from death as a boy, to accompany him on his quest. That may explain Malcador’s immense age and seeming immortality, as well as his apparent difference in physical age from the Emperor. Perhaps what is perceived as fierce loyalty for his Emperor is in fact the love of a father for his son.

Yes. He's been around since the beginning. He was Jesus, Buddha, all those guys... could pretty much change how people saw him on a whim so for the best part of 40 millennia he sat back and only really intervened when he felt it was entirely necessary to keep Humanity on track. It was only the Age of Strife (AKA Fuck your Everything) that made him finally take the reins properly.
