The ORK CULT OF SPEED I Warhammer 40k Lore

Just a very quick point on spelling in this one. Where I have written "Cult of Speed", this is mostly stylised as "Kult of Speed" in the official 40k books. Similarly, "Speed Freaks" is sometimes written as "Speed Freeks". The only reason the script/title is written in the non stylised way is because it fit into my writing flow more naturally (since that's how it's actually written in English!), but if you were to write something "in universe" for an RPG/campaign setting, then I'd recommend the stylised version of "kult of speed/speed freeks" just for immersion purposes. Anyway, hope you all enjoy!

Your AI voice is the best I’ve heard, rare to find it mispronounce the harder words in 40k. Good pacing and tone. Clearly you have put time into making sure it doesn’t make mistakes. Seeing a lot of the ladz that want to play a propa' deff race, speedfreakz style, so i'z got a story for you lot to take with and do what you will. This is a very brief overlay of a game mode that my friends and i were working on that basically combined 40k and kill team but made it all vehicles. You see, in my early dayz as a speed freak warboss, i was fortunate enough to call a siam-hann army and a white scars army amongst my most worthy of opponentz. Oftentimes, we found ourselves itching for a race rather than a foight. So it was that we developed the death race mode. The idea was that you would have a small army (say 6-10 models, tops) of mixed vehicle units that would all act independent from one another (so even if i took 10 warbikes, they would all act as individuals and not a unit) Table size was a regular 6x4 or 8x4. For the 6x4, the game was like a rally race, with each army trying to get in the most "laps" while the 8x4 was a race from one end of the table to the other with the goal of getting the most models across thd table the fastest. The kill team element was in deciding whether to give your model extra movment or attack power. All models got a few inches of movment anyway, but if you wanted more movement you had to give up any attacks. Or, you could attack and be happy with what little standard movement you got. Pulling ahead would almost always risk being the biggest and easiest target on the table, so it got quite tacticle very quickly. And, of course, each vehicle had its own special rules. For example, vehichles that had gunners apart from drivers could both attack AND move, but both the shooting and moving were limited (so, a lower BS and less movment than you would normally get) Problem was, we never worked out the finer details and were still basically play testing it before some of us moved away and others of us gave up the hobby. It is left half remembered by a mad few who dared to dream about a 40k racing game. By all means, if you think you got the chops to finish what we started, gorks speed to you!
