There is a Sci-Fi Show that needed to be a parody or a comedy at first to avoid being sued by the current owners of the Star Trek franchise. Wow. It was imbedded with comedy all right but that is not what it wanted to be. The show was to appeal to fans of the traditional fans of Star Trek. Star Trek did have good humor between the actors. A lot of it was ad lib because the characters were well defined and the actors played off that illusion and did not have to stick to the script. They were into their roles and rehearsed many times playing off each other and keeping a 'strait' face. "Captain. I fail to see" In The Orville, this is happening again. Or did happen. When the performers really like each other, on screen magic happens. The Orville Actors were kept apart all through Covid, You can see their joy working together again. Not so many know about this show yet and fans are terribly worried that it may not make it to a forth season but it is planned to be shown to a larger World audience soon by Disney+ It is a very expensive show and needs a large production budget but Man, is it ever fun to watch! William Shatner himself must Love it! One of the best things is the wonderful score that makes it feel so dramatic. I use my headphones on loud. It is still listed as a comedy. Is it?

An interaction between two beings ruled by logic: "Should the entire species come to this ceremony taking place on a ship?" "Yeah I don't see why not" "Me neither, we'll be there in 5"

Even Primary was like “You want every Kaylon there? Hmm, okay.”

I didn't think I would like this series but I have to admit that now it's one of my all time favorites. Hope they continue it 🤞

Isaac accurately describes marriage. Primary: "You DESCRIBE enslavement!" 😂😂😂 And at that moment while watching, millions of married men laugh a little bit inside. Very VERY silently. And millions of married women die a little inside. And become less of a fan of Seth McFarlane at that moment, lol. This is the kind of subtle, almost ever-present humor that I didn't expect from The Orville. And which a lot of the critics apparently don't get.

Doesn’t the Orville have 100% on RT?

I don’t watch Orville and hence don’t know which season this episode occurred, but the negative reviews were only for the first season. Subsequent seasons were extremely well received.

@@かたわれ時-e7x All the seasons were extremely well received by the only critics that matter, which was the audience. The so-called "professional" critics have opinions that are almost exclusively valued and valuable for drawing the opposite conclusions of whatever the people's opinions may be. If a critic says something is good, it is almost always bad. And if they say it is bad, it is more often than not, good or great. They only pretended to have changed their opinions after the first season because of the absolute shellacking that they received from the public over how utterly wrong they were about the first season.

Yeah, sure, it "perfectly" describes marriage. If you're in the kind of miserable, loveless marriage that boomers were pressured into accepting.

Guests are invited to bare witness to the marriage as way to enforce their commitment, by making a promise infront of all those people you are also making a promise to said people that you are committed and once its done it will be hard to undo it without ruining your reputation. (atleast in the times when marriage was considered very sacred) and my personal opinion is that i find it illogical as creatures change and evolve it is unlikely the person you have married will be the same person after say...10 years, and what if they change in a way that you cannot love them? or perhaps you realize you never really "loved" them, only attracted to their asthetic apperance or visage of success and passion, some marry out of fear of isolation but once you overcome it you might wish to depart.
