@@stephendevore3902 Bingo. I think that was the reasoning behind having to hit them twice. Part of the logic behind not giving up on the 1st attack would be that it was an event that can't be reproduced easily. Did America have a 3rd bomb ready to go? I think they're overdoing it with the quantity of ships involved in these battles. I did love how there were elements of Star Wars and Star Trek. The Orville is way better than anything Paramount or Disney is making now.

That's what I love about history, especially naval history. There are some parts are even more interesting and amazing than scifi... WW2, bunch of Germans sitting in a fjord in destroyers ready to ambush a group of Royal Navy destroyers they suspected were coming in after them except... well it's the Royal Navy and HMS Warspite was in the area so instead of a few destroyers they could ambush, the German destroyers were greeted by Battleship HMS Warspite barrelling round the corner with her 15" main guns already pointed right at them. Warspite already had a reputation from the Battle of Jutland in WW1 but a Battleship counter ambushing Destroyers takes the cake. Then there was the time the USN charged so aggressively at the largest battleship ever to be built that they convinced Yamato's entire squadron that they were facing a much larger force than the actual force of Taffy 3 that was the grand total of 3 destroyers, 4 destroyer escorts and 6 escort carriers. One of Yamato's turrets weighs more than the whole of Taffy 3 and Yamato wasn't even alone. She had 3 more battleships, 6 heavy cruisers, 2 light cruisers and 11 destroyers escorting her but it was the Japanese that retreated and failed to stop the landings on the island of Samar. The heroism of Taffy 3 saved the majority of the escort carriers, landing and supply ships and more importantly the thousands of US soldiers being landed. Not having a dig or being a smart arse(not intentionally at least) Just bored and wanted to share what I thought of when I read your comment 🤗

Kevin Kaska. He's mainly worked as an orchestrator, but he's also a great composer. "The Orville" had a few excellent "old fashioned" composers: John Debney, Joel McNeely, Andrew Cottee, Bruce Broughton and Kaska. It's a shame their style isn't more appreciated by today audiences. Instead we have countless Hanz Zimmer copycats (I love Zimmer's style when it's done by him, not one of his clones)

Just like TNG it has evolved and matured in the season 3, I have gotten invested into its characters and connected with them, just like its supposed to be with good movies or shows. That's an important bit of propaganda you've been fed. The Japanese were already surrendering. Nukes were always unnecessary and a mind blowingly idiotic use of technology that the elites developed , who want self defeating trump card instead of democracy and diplomacy. The perpetrators of both world wars were elites who became flush with unmerited cash after banking privatization, which enabled them to repurpose all the science that had been discovered after our brief respite from their oppression in the 18th and 19th century, for world wars and capitalist propaganda in the 20th century.

After the ridiculous family guy series and its huge success, this guy flips the switch and does a more serious type of show (less ridiculous comedy) more science and reality stuff. The best part is its a wicked success, looks really great, excellent characters and the development of the main groups as well. I originally thought it would be a show centering around the two types of cultures and planets and their gravity fields, but then they start going to other worlds in a startrek esk ship and they are actually quite interesting ideas for planets, the democratically run world for example, wicked idea. I will be looking for this series to watch, looks really interesting.

The Kaylon vessels may be the size of Borg Spheres. But the Cube vessels of the Borg may well be a good deal bigger. And perhaps at least 6 times larger. That means that it'll take a lot more than the output of this device to destroy those. And that means more - not less - functionality.

That's not how the device works. At least my understanding of it, the device piggy backs off of the hivemind aka the backup cloud. All kaylon (besides issac) are connected to the cloud, basically making them immortal. Anytime time they activate the device (which WAS suppose to be an disabling EMP) it is amplified by the hivemind server signal and creates an explosion of kaylon tech. In theory if it worked on the borg, the more borg tech there is the greater the damage, only limited by how far the device's signal can be boardcasted

@@explorer47422 I don't have Hulu, so I'm a bit behind the curve here. The last time I checked, the Kaylons were doing their Cylon impersonation and attempting to eradicate all biologic life. The Krill and Union formed an uneasy alliance. So...what happened that now the Union needs an alliance with their sworn enemies?

@@spaceflight1019 Spoilers: Union found a way to eradicate all Kaylon as in the video but used it to force peace talks instead. Moclans were kicked out of the Union after abducting and torturing Topa. Moclans formed an alliance with the Krill shifting power of balance and stole the Kaylon killing device. Union teamed up with Kaylon to get it back and in the process the Kaylon saw the error of their ways.

'Oh you have a big ass weapon that can instantly wipe out entire fleets? Well come on down to our capital at the heart of our empire'. See, if I were the Kaylon, I would've waited until the Orville was in range of like 20 ships and all fired at once, as pretty sure they were just using standard shields still, and destroy them before they had a chance to set it off again.

Ahh You forgot that Issac Said that if the device is already Active and if they Kaylon tried anything to disable it will automatically Activated Which means that if They tried to destroy the Orville the device will Also activated and they are in the Heart of Kaylon system. Which mean It will destroy every Kaylon in there since the Neural Synchroniz Matrix is in their home planet.

This show needs to have many more seasons. I can't stomach what had been done with "real" Trek over the past 14 years (and I wasn't too wild about Voyager and Enterprise but at least they were trying) but The Orville picks up where TNG left off, albeit with more humor, but it's well balanced enough to not hurt it. You don't get agendas forced down your throat, Seth understands that entertainment comes first. Paramount could have redeemed themselves with Strange New Worlds but fumbled big time, and we all know how they did that so why bother saying why. The Orville IS Trek. It's what the "real" Trek should be. So it would be a shame if it ends with season 3.

Agreed. I refuse to watch the nulltreks. Even if i do, i pirate. Boycott that shit. However The Orville needs every bit of support. I watched it on Disney+ and will buy merchandise through Hulu. Hope it will get a s4, or better yet, outlive every single last nulltrek show!

Enterprise was damn good in my opinion and Voyager wasn't bad but boy oh boy wtf is Discovery and Picard? I tried hard to like them but I just can't. I liked the reboots but they weren't exactly Star Trek, not enough diplomacy and stuff.

@@danieldickson8591 No. SNW barely qualifies as Star Trek. It's only called good because STD and Discard was disgracefully bad. So bad that it has done irreparable damage to the franchise. Alex Kurtzmen and his lot of trolls have been destroying Star Trek since 2009. They literally started copying The Orville in STD because they can't write Star Trek nor do they like Star Trek. Disgraceful shit. The Orville and SNW are not the same. I hope Alex Kurtzmen trek crash and burn in the most spectacular fashion, thanks.

Every clip has comments filled with people calling this better than current Trek. Being better than current Trek is easy as it has 100% lost it's way. Trek was about showing what we could be without ism's and warring ideologies while new Trek shows a future more screwed up by them than modern day. They forgot the basic Star Trek formula for inspiring people which is show don't tell. Show a better humanity working together without internal conflict. There is a reason that so much is inspired by old Trek in our lives and nothing inspired by new Trek. DS9 was when Trek started falling apart philosophically and the new stuff is simply deconstructing and vilifying that which came before it.
