Part of the reason why many people hate mono-Blue decks is that they tend to all do the same thing: Draw a lot, take a lot of extra turns, and repeat until the combo win is found. This one is no different. As for the combos being disruptable, that is actually preferable for the casual nature of Commander, it is perfectly acceptable if not outright advisable to leave ways for your path to victory, especially combos, to be disruptable to give opponents a chance to interact and enjoy the game more.

I would drop Feldon's Cane, which exiles itself, for something like Ulamog, Quest for Ancient Secrets, or Psychic Sprial. The latter two can be activated at instant speed, and Ulamog fits almost the same space as Kozilek in this deck, so any are preferable to Feldon's Cane.

Never drop that card if one considers removing from deck list put in a wish card ( return from exile) or add in addition to cane another shuffle into library card.

I know there is not going to be any voting but could I suggest that Ertai, The Corrupted be put up for a vote? I have seen a few esper decks but very little coverage for a general that has counterspell stapled to him. Plus, He was esper before esper had a name or was cool.

I run a mono-blue Arcanis deck. I also use Mind Over Matter and instead of Kozilek, I use Ulamog because of his destroy a permanent is one of the only things I have for removal of enchantmets or artifacts. I'm surprised to not see Pongify or Rapid Hybridization in this deck. Or Cyclonic Rift. Both are great cards. Curse of the Swine wasn't out when this video was posted, so I'll forgive that. But no Tom Hanks (Solemn Simulacrum) or Thran Dynamo? I'm not trying to hate on this deck, it's given me ideas of cards that I should throw in mine, but a remake of this video should be done with some different cards added in. All in all, excellent deck. Thank you for sharing.

I've always thought about building an Arcanis deck if I was ever going to build a mono blue EDH, because he's my favorite wizard. I do like this deck for that reason, but it seems that this deck may have too much consistency, which would make me get bored of it quickly. Other than that though, its great. I like the bunches of legends in the deck, which kind of contrasts my Nicol Bolas deck. Great video as always. I'm looking forward to the double feature collaboration.

My hidetsugu deck is about speeding the game up, so yeah, you'd hate that one. My Brion deck is about borrowing your dude, smacking someone else with it, and then throwing it at the 3rd opponent. One of my slower decks actually. I personnaly dislike decks that run 20 tutors and just focus on assembling the infinite combo of choice. So we all have our preferences.

Can you please make a Commanding on a Budget version of this deck? I would greatly appreciate it.

There are different types of Voltron. My Heartless Hidetsugu and Brion Stoutarm are both voltron, but definitely don't swing that often.

I agree. Counterspells aren't as powerful in multiplayer. But it's not fun to play against them and that's a fact. While I can certainly relate to what your saying, at least you do something before the wrath and before the exiling. That's the only difference, but for me it is significant. On the other hand, you could always say "try win next game", which doesn't help. Just have fun NOW and not THEN. (For me this does make sense =)) Greetings

so what would you do with someone playing a heavy blue Oono? I really like blue and although I see your point in blue being too good to combo off with, I imagine it'd be hard to enforce a ban on an actual color :P. Might be better off banning Mind of Matter, Jace tMS, Teferi and Power Artifact.

no the deck itself is fine. If he took out some of the more expensive extra turn cards and added in more disruptive counter magic/ good cards ( I am hurt by the lack of vendilion clique in here) then it becomes unfun

I don't like it. Seems very uninteractive. However my main concern with it is how long each of their turns will take. Decks like this make me a sad panda...
@frizzleybear11 жыл бұрын
I agree with you here. These decks are really unfun to play with. All it will result in is everyone else at the table ganging up to get rid of the monoblue player and then they can start playing a really game.

why dose't this deck play a few anti blow out cards like propaganda, pongify, and perhaps something like evacuation over some of the really un-needed extra draw power. my two cents.

If he hates green decks with their huge creatures and he's tired of being beaten down and feels like being a complete asshole then why not play Meishin, the Mind Cage. It's a legendary blue enchantment card for 7 that says "All creatures get -X/-0, where X is the number of cards in your hand." It's a good way to deal with green decks and aggro decks, as well as an excellent source of pissing off everyone at the table enough to never play with you ever again XD

So basically, you should play this deck if you like blue.

Mono blue doesn't have to be broken but having Ancestral Recall on your general makes it broken as hell. All you need to do is give him shroud and the game is going to be locked up. EDH is supposed to be a social format, not be as Spiky as possible and hate everyone out.
@MrSchamasch11 жыл бұрын
Hey, I don't think that this deck reflects what EDH is about. Just stopping everything that's happening seems first of all pretty dumb and is very boring to play against. I don't like those kinds of deck in multiplayer where we play for fun. That deck is definetely not fun. Pls no mono blue next time! Greetings

WHY DOES EVERYONE SAY SAMICH OR SAMWICH!!!! ITS SANDWICH!! WITH A D NOT AN M!!!!
@Tedurbin20211 жыл бұрын
That is my point. Regardless as to what you build, there are going to be those who do not like it. As I said earlier, I hate Voltron style decks, but control decks such as this don't bother me. I myself make sure not to fill my decks with too many tutors. My favorite color is Black, so playing too many tutors gives just too much consistency in every game for my taste, and that goes back to a similar reason why I don't like Voltron decks.
@Tedurbin20211 жыл бұрын
I agree. I particularly don't like Voltron decks in EDH, since all they do is play their general, attach a world's worth of crap onto it, then swing every game. Its boring to me. Mono blue decks though, no problem.
@Tedurbin20211 жыл бұрын
Regardless of what kind of Voltron deck you have, its still the same basic game plan. 1.) Cast general. 2.) Attach a bunch of stuff to that general. 3.) Turn general sideways (even in your examples.) Its essentially the same thing. That's all Voltron decks do, and while you and others may enjoy them and that's fine, I find it boring and makes games too fast.
