That's the true Ecuadorian generosity. I feel like people on this thread kept focusing on a single lady at the beginning of the video being a little cold shoulder. Focus on the positive. Ecuador is a beautiful country with wonderful people. Unfortunely, just like any part of the world there will always be some people who are not as welcoming or heart-warming due to their circumstances which no one here knows. Thanks Kurt for showing the other side of various countries. Most people always show the "pretty side" tourist places.

He recorrido toda la costa y parte de la sierra en bicicleta acampando y puedo decir con certeza que los temores están sobredimensionados. Que no se les vaya la vida encerrados en una cárcel imaginaria de miedos e indecisiones. Los buenos son más que los malos pero hay que ser cauteloso. También la buena actitud trae buena respuesta de los demás, ahí es donde falló el autor de este video. Es cierto que el servicio al cliente deja mucho que desear en algunos lugares pero si se tiene una buena actitud todo cambia. Las mejores experiencias con la gente las he tenido en los pueblitos pequeños del camino. Ahí en Jama también me encontré gente buena, hospitalaria y amigable. Se recibe lo que se da.

Glad you found some gas, most of us Ecuadorians are welcoming people. You have explored the Coast but there’s also la Sierra, Amazonía and Galapagos. Is very rare to find bread for breakfast in the coast, most of it is plantain and seafood. If you have the chance, go to Baños, Quito, Cuenca, Otavalo. Wish you all the best and stay safe. As long as you know how to get back home just enjoy the drive, put on some music or just enjoy the sounds of the car/road and the scenery. Have the whole trip take place from the cockpit, roads can be beautifull.

You can’t walk around with decent shoes or any camera or cell phone. They will rob you right now, this as been on going for 2 years now since the pandemic. Hi Kurt, I’ve seen several of your videos, great stuff, I enjoy them being genuine. I recognized Canoa where you had breakfast, walked by it 2 years ago, I stayed in Canoa. Did a 2 week motorcycle ride around Ecuador, rode same roads along the coast to Salinas. Great country, friendly people, beautiful shades of green, would love to go back. Buen viaje amigo.

If you did eat sea food, I would recommend the Delfin Mágico restaurant in the town of Salango, where they serve one of the best coffees I have ever tried. It's a shame you didn't spend a some time in Puerto López. So much stuff to see around. I had one of the best weeks there.
