That Girl is one of Maiden's best recorded songs :) listening to these SiT bsides take you to another place. So unique sound and feel, including of course the entire SiT album. One can only appreciate Martin Birch to provide such a unique and special sound to these classic albums. Still miss those days.

"Massacre" was covered as tribute to the one and only Philo Lynott, who died in '86. What a spectacular band! Brian Downey is one of the most underrated drummer of the '70s and on Guitar they had Brian Robertson, Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Snowy White, John Sykes... one better than the other! All the albums from the decade '74-''83 are absolute classics.

@@danbal4185 yes that's a very cool moment you can tell James is a big fan. Check out the Slane Castle video of them playing Whisky in the Jar and take note of the colours of the guitars. Also cool as another Lizzy connection as Kirk is playing Gary Moore's 'greeny' les Paul :)

I think it's one of the best songs they did with Blaze, and I am so pleased you included it here. I am definitely one of those who laments the fact that it wasn't on the album. One thing that doesn´t get mentioned often is that Iron Maiden has been quite good at making access to many of their old b-sides easy through compilations and reissued CDs containing old single releases. Two of my very first Iron Maiden CDs, bought in late 1990, were the singles for Can I Play With Madness/The Evil That Men Do (on one CD) and Stranger in a Strange Land/Wasted Years, also on one CD. Great releases that contain all the relevant b-sides from the original vinyl singles from 1986 and 1988, respectively. The downsides for both CDs are the Listen With Nicko segments that serve as a good reminder of why CD players have a skip button. But the rest of it is top notch stuff, including unknown but great songs written and sung by Adrian Smith. A man of many talents indeed.

About the 'Time' B-sides, I read somewhere that it is Adrian playing bass and all guitars on most tracks. What I read is it is the entire band only playing on 'Sheriff'. But, I never resolved that in the back of my mind. It sounds like Steve playing on 'That Girl' & Juanita. But, "Reach Out"? Well, I'm never really sure.

Hey Nico, thanks for making this awesome video! Was so cool to learn more about Maiden’s B sides. Personally, even though they are covers of their older stuff, I adore the 1988 re-recordings of Charlotte the Harlot and Prowler. For me, they are the quintessential versions of those songs. I just love that late 80s sound Maiden had from 86-88. There will be nothing quite like it ever again I think. Gotta get me one of those GK 250ML amps someday.
