This is one of the worst, corniest pieces of shit ever made. My sister is developmentally disabled and has CP. I grew up with the challenged and these performances are so try hard that they smell like smegma.

Thank heavens my mother was never like her. For one she never gave up hope that I can succeed in life despite my autism, and she loves my husband who also has autism. He went out of his way to cheer her up after a cosine passed away and she told me "honey if you don't marry him I will"

I have to say something real here. Roger Ebert, I respect your opinion about movies but I can't agree with you here. This is a movie portraying a very real evil that exists with rich parents and special children. The mother is the main antagonist of the story. That's the point. Diane Keaton did exactly what she was supposed to do. You are not supposed to like her character. That does not devalue "The Other Sister," it strengthens it.
