I'm convinced that Captain Aty has more complex and varied vocalizations than other otters. When other otters beg or whine, it's always one tone, one sound. With Aty he varies the tone of his voice, and he makes sounds I've never heard from another otter. I think he's smart enough to try and emulate human speech patterns. I swear, sometimes he sounds like he's trying to tell us something. It's like he's frustrated we can't understand him, he's speaking PERFECT Japanese!
