I'm not a fan of keeping wild critters as pets, but of all the otter videos out there Aty is the only one where the owner seems to be doing his best to give the otter as close to a natural life as possible, I hope people are noticing that otters are high maintenance pets and not something to be locked in a room while you go to work and played with when you have time and want to make a cute video. Otterman makes an effort to make Aty as happy and natural as possible, taking him outside and to the river as much as he can, but I bet Aty is pretty much the only captive otter that gets that treatment, I have so far never seen any of the other videos of otters come close to ottermans effort. Not being a grump here I love Aty, but worry about all the fools that want an otter because they are cute, and will not have the time to make ottermans efforts to make Aty happy, Otterman seems to structure his whole life aroung Aty, and not many people have the time and money to do that.

Absolutely right, the same goes for any pet, but definitely for otters because they are used to living in big communites in the wild. A flat in Japan isnt enough, they need rivers and interaction, Otterman takes constant care of ATY, like a child.

I agree with you entirely. Otterman does all he can to offer Aty a healthy life, taking him out for walks, etc. The little otter is very happy with him. But there are people who will take otters at home and not look after their well being. Otters need to go out every day and go swimming when possible, which means the house must be near a river. Besides, Otterman has all the comfort needed for Aty : a tub in the bathroom, a shower. As you say Otterman seems to structure his whole life around Aty. He can afford it and he is a very good man.
