4:10 Honestly one of the funniest things that ever happened to me in this game was because I took the flaw robophobia. And yes it was worth it it was incredibly hilarious. Basically before I ever got that flaw I was planning on getting the robot SAM so we could clean out The colony. I saw this flaw and was like "yeah sure probably won't hurt me that bad" and took it. What I didn't realize he is robophobia applies to your robot companion. On the bright side every time I talk to him I can now scream incoherently. Now I have a beautiful story about a guy overcoming his fears to save the people he loves.

I did not find this funny at all, because the description clearly states that this flaw should only be active while facing enemy robots: "Automechanicals now give you the willies, and when they’re attacking your party you’re not as effective as you should be." I felt betrayed after noticing that SAM triggers this flaw as well as other friendly robots.

good video! but here are some extra tips to look out for when playing this build, you should definitely grab the dur-a-bull guards early game as they add +5 ranged weapons and have 4 armor mods. the armor im currently using for this build is the anti-riot gear which is medium armor with 4 mod slots that grants +7 to long guns and hemlock's eyepatch which grants +10% sneak damage. there is a tier 3 perk armor master that gives 100% skill bonus on armor which effectively doubles these bonuses which is actually insane. the pink slip is a great rifle, but the sublight sniper is an ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE for this build. it's essentially a slightly weaker pink slip but it has 3 mod slots instead of 1which just cannot be overlooked. lastly, another great piece to get (but hard to find) is the chrono-field aggregator which is an armor gadget mod that grants TTD when you score a critical hit. it is absolutely disgusting for this build!

So THANK YOU for pumping out such a great series of videos so early in the release of the game. This is basically the build I came up with on my own. Only problem is, if you are playing above Normal difficulty, you can't really one-shot much more than random humans and some weak wildlife until about level 15 or so. Also, be aware that while plasma is *generally* good against flesh, it doesn't do so well against Mantisaurs (the codex verifies this). I've also found that even though plasma is good against flesh, corrosion is good against basically everything, including robots. The 30% bonus you get from science maxed isn't really worth it. Hit 60 for the 25% bonus to corrosion and N-ray. edit: Maxing out Science eventually can be worth it depending on just how far you want to raise plasma damage, but it's overkill. It also saves you some bits when max tinkering non Science weapons, but it's a huge investment for that. Also, there are armors (both chest and head) that increase long gun damage, or stealth, so you would want to use those as your main armor.

@@CadenRoss May want to raise your perception, look again. You get the bonus over 100 from companions and gear. Long guns adds a higher chance to crit, and stealth (or just sneak) adds more damage while doing a sneak attack. Science also adds slightly more to plasma and shock damage. You don't "need" above 100, but it does in fact scale above that.

I found an eyepatch called Helmich's Eyepatch (sp) and it's a unique headslot item that give +10% sneak attack damage. Very little armor, but well worth the trade.

Perks are not super important for builds.... Picks Perks for TTD needed for the Time Sniper to work.

The Reaper perk does work during TTD, but only with hitscan weapons! This means that the plasma rifle is only effective for the initial shot... use it to take down the most durable enemy target, swapping to an ultra hunter or deadeye II to deal with the rest. With a very similar build, I take out every enemy within my line of sight as each headshot kill extends my TTD long enough to line up another shot.

I am currently playing with this build and I am having a blast. Its my favorite build that I have tried so far (planning a lone wolf dumb melee next) I only have one issue with it and its the weapons section. For starters, we spend most of the game focusing on science to pump up our elemental damage, and then they go and recommend the pink slip, which cannot be modified to have elemental damage. So that was a bit confusing even tho I understand they were going for the armor penetration thing it still made no sense to me when long guns 100 takes care of that along with the confidence perk. I also don't understand what they are talking about having to replace your weapon often. In both my previous 2 playthroughs and this one I ended up waiting for level appropriate gear to drop from enemies. I was doing all the quests I could so by the time I was done with monarch and went to Byzantium I was level 25 almost 26. At this point I was still only seeing mostly level 16-20 gear dropping. When I was level 16 or so I kept seeing only level 9 gear drop. The only way for me to maintain level proper damage was to give up and tinker my weapon up. So all I needed was my favorite weapon, slap my mods and tinker it up with me. Nothing that dropped ever surpassed anything I had tinkered to my own level, not even the 5 levels above, my same level. Selling all the extra mods the game generously kept dropping for me and all those low level weapons kept the cost covered, with help of science 100 eventually. The rest of the build I had no issues with but yeah. In general I feel this game does NOT promote replacing gear often the way its set up. One can level ridiculously fast with just non combat quests. And the gear seems to me to drop at set levels and doesn't seem to scale with whatever level you are at the time. Still love your builds tho =)

That's fine but if you're tinkering up your lvl 1-10 weapons, it's ridiculously expensive, even with 100 science, because the cost grows exponentially. I tried it with my mark 1 deadeye AR and eventually gave up around level 20.

Yeah I’m honestly kind of surprised by that. I feel like I’m a good chunk of the way through the game and I’ve transitioned from a hunting rifle to the “Hard hitting AR” variant, but no uniques of that that I’ve found nor any other snipe options. Kinda surprised that sniping wasn’t more fleshed out compared to the other long guns skills- at present my sniper can grab an AR and be just as handy as a dedicated auto-weapon char, and vice versa.

I think it's better to not have the noise reducer on the snipers as you're already going to be far away when you take your shot if you're doing it right. Now when I found my plasma launcher that is what I put the noise reducer on so I could sneak up and get the sneak bonus damage with a giant charge-up plasma nade.

there is a gun store in byzantium that sells it for 8000 bits, but you should save your money and get the sublight sniper which in my opinion is better because it has 3 mod slots while the pink slip only has 1, and you get it after becoming friendly with sublight in the store in fallbrook

You should definitely level up Stealth first while in edge water. It levels up Sneak as well as Hacking and Lockpicking which makes it much easier to get all of the early game loot and unless you're on Hard or Supernova the enemies aren't that hard, especially if you pick up Parvati as soon as possible.

Depends on the flaws, as some of them you only have to worry about depending on the world you are on, as I don't think monsters are the same on the other worlds. So fearing one monster would be fine, as you wouldn't be facing it again on the other worlds, or at least I don't think so. Please let me know if I am wrong...

idk how viable this is on supernova. i just got out of edgewater so im not too far in, but im lvl 9 w/ pretty much maxed out equipment and i cant 1shot anything stronger than marauders rn. im considering switching to a plasma rifle to see if it works well on gorillas at range bc those seem invulnerable to my rifle now.

With only 3 relevant skills for this build, you should have plenty of points to throw towards dialogue or engineering skills, as well. Getting Sneak to 20 should serve you fine for most of the game, so just focus on long guns and science at first, and then feel free to start pumping whatever else you want!

Allowing a respec at all is completely new for Obsidian I think, most of their games all skills and perks and attributes are permanent (though they can be modified, they can’t be reallocated). I’m actually surprised you can change any of them

Uh, um, it is not a clip. The last popular rifle that used a "clip" would be the M1 Garand... Sure rifles like SKS, Mosin Nagant, even the AR can use stripper clips but that is only to load magazines or the rifle itself, it is a feeding device. Modern rifles or more importantly futuristic rifles take magazines that are detachable. You video is good and I like it, it is just any time you use incorrect terminology, like a clip, especially with anyone who knows anything about guns, you instantly loose credibility.
