The best Global Warming song I know... A California sun for everyone, from Iceland to Mongolia, from the tops of the Kilimanjaro to the fjords in Norway.... With Jon Anderson-like vocals and a bass sound that reminds by moments of the great Chris Squire, this song has a strong Yes feel, from the Big Generator period.

He'll be all alone if he does... The solo survivor (to quote Asia), a bit like Carl Palmer from Emerson Lake & Palmer....

sounds fresh...great!

Fresh is the word. This song doesn't sound like one played by 50+ guys, but by vibrant young guys who have just left highschool or the university.

This song sounds like it could have been performed by Yes. I always thought that The Outfield could have covered quite a few of Yes' songs. They could have nailed Rhythm of Love.

Genius observation! Tony Lewis should team up with Trevor Rabin, guitarist of the 1980s Yes (know as Generators era Yes!) .... they would write amazing music!

@@todzzzzz Yes that would have been quite a team. Unfortunately, this is not going to happen anymore...

Rhythm... was indeed the first song that came into my mind too. Unfortunately, by now Yes is not even a Maybe anymore, and Spinks and now Lewis are gone forever... Missed opportunity, unless of course record companies were firmly opposed. Ritchie Blackmore was interested in playing together "just once" with Ian Gillan again, but there too, apparantly there was a "njet" from the record companies, at least according to Blackmore. It seems like these musicians often don't have absolute freedom to work together with whoever they would want.

Tony Lewis sounds A LOT like Jon Anderson from Yes....
@Retroscoop4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you have a point there. Think Anderson still sounds a bit sharper, but the comparison certainly isn't farfetched at all. Also instrumentally, there is some connection with for ex. the "Big Generator"-album of Yes, for ex. Rhythm of love.

Am I hearing this album wrong or does it sound washed out and over-processed compared to, say, their first couple albums?
