It would literally be so easy to save the game. The tiniest bit of content in the experimental patch made thousands of people enjoy the game again. Fully agree with the clip of super. They are putting so much time and effort into a game that is ruining their other titles and it’s leaving Overwatch to die; not just in the sense of no players for OW1 but also losing members of the community being the game is the same as it was 6-8 months ago. And OW2, honestly, looks bad as fuck. nothing of what they've shown seems to make me want to come back. I dislike the idea of 5vs5 because I never played it competitively nor with a competitive mindset. In fact, my top wish was for 12vs12. OW is 6vs6 as is, and yet, being bitched at by my team even in casual modes was a constant before, and is now more likely to happen in 5vs5 because each person has bigger impact overall to the game flow. And no options around it. It's 5vs5 only, with strict roles, and ways to play, and bitching bitching bitching as if this was a MOBA. UUUURGH. The hero reworks are even worse. They make everyone more samey, and are utterly UNCREATIVE anyways. Look at Sombra, who literally had her unique mechanic of hackig almost removed. You know, HACKING. And was given... damage, as compensation. Nope, that's it, she was given - more damage. Do you not like damage? Too bad, it's damage. Why would I want to play a gutted and unfun version of a hero that, uh, I guess is better at doing damage now? Why would I damage as a payback? If it was damage I was looking for, I could have always picked soldier. Or a McNoName, or a Reaper. Nope, I wanted to play Sombra, I wanted to hack people, but I can't pick Sombra in OW2 anymore, because she's gone and damage is here, so she can be a role-fitting cog in the sameyness machine of competitive boringness and team bitching. I have plenty of alternatives. Goodbye shitwatch. May your stale, forced uncreative design meta reach no audience. Die with your shit company.

You know how street fighter 2 let you build ex meter for a single good move and street fighter 3 let you use meter to produce improved version of any of the core moves. Would be cool if overwatch had that. Like you could use all meter to do Mei's ultra of use some of the meter to get enhanced version of the core moves

Why would you possibly want to spend *TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS* on such a flimsy prospect? What if the game is dead on arrival? What if the company is dead on arrival? This is before the calculations that you'll be able to earn your twenty million dollars back!

The Overwatch League is an enigma: something causes everyone to think it is dying but then it somehow bounces back. However, this time the problem is with the game which Blizzard need to try their best to fix. I still have faith and I know that Aaron Keller can save us.

There really needs to be a public beta of the game available when the league starts. Otherwise it's going to feel so disjointed for both the pro players and the viewers when they have to go back to playing the old game. The first overwatch beta did last a while so I do think it's possible.

I love overwatch and will continue to support it and the league, but I’m really sad for how they managed the game and its updates. I can’t believe they left the game to die until ow2 comes. I mean, i get the part that they save the new heroes for the sequel but no balance updates? No maps? It’s like they are asking for people to move on to others games hoping they will come back in the future

Splitting your own base between two games with no cross compatibility is a disaster in the making. You effectively compete with yourself and dilute your own market share for no real gain.
@deezboyeed67643 жыл бұрын
What do you mean splitting? There is no ow1 when ow2 launches, its replacing 1
@subtlewhatssubtle3 жыл бұрын
@@deezboyeed6764 When it launches, sure. I'm aware of their original-and-sequel-merge idea. We'll see how that works out, and good luck to them. I suppose my reference of market share implied the retail audience, I should have clarified that this perspective is exclusively referring to the competitive esports scene. Right now, ActiBlizz is making it more difficult than necessary for teams to grow and train properly. Per the video, Contenders and League teams might not even be playing the same games--that's the splitting and dilution I'm referring to. Splitting - Separating their professional and prospective Overwatch scenes, harming the scouting opportunities for the latter. Dilution - Overwatch and the juryrigged "Overwatch 2" being played by those two scenes separately weakens the position of both in the larger esports scene, especially due to the prospectives not knowing which way to leap yet (particularly since the sequel continues to sail troubled waters). Maybe it'll be fine--I hope it will be--but it's still not a great way to run a game and its sequel in a competitive environment where presenting a cohesive front is key.

The recent experimental patch gave me a little bit of hope... and then, I have to wonder, What is preventing the devs from bringing these changes to the actual game?
@patrickcarter28293 жыл бұрын
It would make their "sequel" look bad if it doesn't have much to justify the delay, most likely. Honestly, I just think this is a 2.0 patch masquerading as a "sequel"?

OW2 was taken out of the oven far too early: Blizzard needed some good news with the whole Blizchung debacle and let the cat out of the bag way too early. It's obvious they weren't ready. Why would my friends and I want to watch OWL where they're playing a game that we can't play? Why wouldn't we just watch OW1 games?

Blizzard should allow the custom move thing to be used in actual pvp matches because it would make how you play the game drastically different from other players and it would really help the game out a lot

Overwatch 2 should have just been an expansion with the base game going free to play and the loot box system being reworked. Activision created a marketing nightmare and the overwatch team is in over their head rebalancing every character.
@martianunlimited2 жыл бұрын
My guess is that OW2 beta (PVP only) would be made available to all OW1 owners a few months before the league. Similar to Starcraft 2, they would probably make PvP free to play and then lock the PvE and story/progression mode content behind a pay wall in an attempt to revitalize the player base

Overwatch fans are feeling the frustration tf2 has been feeling for years now. The difference is, our game has been pretty much perfected for casual and competitive play, while Overwatch is a balancing and visual mess - if you're going to ABANDON your game Blizzard, you have a responsibility to make sure the core gameplay is at least fun!

I feel the reason why Overwatch 2 (aswell as Diablo IV) is getting delayed is because of the Lawsuit from Activision-Blizzard. Activision-Blizzard are in so much trouble that fans of Ovewatch and Crash Bandicoot are boycotting them for all the vile things the company is being sued for, not to mention on the move to get Bobby Kotick to resign from the company for acting more Mafia boss rather than a CEO.

I don't personally play ow but from what I've heard from friends and seen from numerous videos, their transition seems to be the worst thing they could possibly do at this current moment. To compare it a game I have played, Splatoon, their transition from 1 to 2 went smoothly. They left 1 in a good state, changed not just added things, and while the game got updates, it wasn't like the game was updated for years, so making a new game felt more natural then updating it. Ow has been getting updates for years has it not? They also left the game with some bad balancing last I checked (could be wrong) plus as xqc said, the game is pretty much the same.

OW its a good game and I spent a lot of hours in it, but the lack of actual new content and other things made me stop playing it. And now there's this problems envolving abusive work situations, ba behavior and leading someone to find the wrost way to ease the pain (I don't know if I cant use the word so I hope you understand). Honestly, I kinda hope that OWL just ends and the amazing teams finds out a new game to compete, Blizzard have a ton of issues to atend to. Its sad that a lot of gamers forgets or just doenst care about whats going on, reinforcing toxic behaviors. Thanks for your video. Your work here is amazing!
