Analysis... Overall, the music evokes the sadness of Honor, the sadness of battlefield Glory, paid for with the blood of boys. Horrible, yet sometimes unavoidable, and calling upon us to respect and remembrance. If listened at higher volume or headset, there is tympani (base drum) that evokes distant explosions. The occasional red stain evokes both blood and the Japanese Rising Sun flag . The charcoal is used as a drawing implement, but when fractured, evokes both shrapnel and emotion....the intense emotion of the Artist, because the Artist is remembering. He was there. This is his story.

This never gets old! If I am not watching the intro I listen to the song downloaded from iTunes. Sounds best on headset/earphones. Doesn't matter much which time of the day. Its always on repeat on my playlist and at the end of my workout playlist. Sometimes I would walk home after gym workout or beach jog, about a mile from my apartment, and I put put it on to help make me think and remember. It was the The Pacific Theatre War that took my grandfather to this paradise region where he met my grandmother and have my father. My grandfather survived 4 beach landings including the battle for Tarawa and the battle for Guadalcanal. He was born in 1918, joined the US Marines in 1940 and returned home after the war in 1946. He left in 2014 at age 96.

Highly honorable job by all involved with the music and the filming of this intro and the use of the charcoal....its brilliant. In Memory today of Uncle Eddie: Gunnery Sgt E.A. I say Korea or Vietnam. Vietnam is in my opinion far grittier and dark, especially if you read the long list of war crimes the US committed. Korea would be great if Spielberg did it with one episode from a POV of an american, another from a POV of a Canadian, basically showing us the different POVs from the other nationalities fighting in Korea

Everyday I struggle, everyday I wonder why I struggle, and I wish I could stop. But then I remember that I wore the uniform, same as those who Landed on those Beaches during those dark days of the world. Everyday I wonder why I did when it shouldn’t have been a Why but more of a when. When they did they did it for the Rights of others and when I did, I did it because I had that right! I fought PROUDLY UNDER THE AMERICAN FLAG AND TO THIS DAY I STILL SALUTE THE FLAG AS EVERYONE WHO WALKED UNDER IT SHOULD!! I was a Boy when the Towers fell and when I was a Man I joined! And I Struggled and Fought and I will never stop because they didn’t!! I won’t stop and will not stop!! God bless the men in Uniform!!! And GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
